Notice:
2008.08.12 17:45 808 Enterprises is leaving the Caldari State faction within 24 hours. After that time 808 Enterprises may no longer fight on behalf of Caldari State.
After assesing the situation within the Placid region, and the grind to a stalemate that this 'proxy war' has become, I have decided to end our association with the State Militia. 808 Enterprises will continue to agressively defend its corporate holdings within the Placid region, but will again resume normal trade with the Gallente Federation.
On a personal note I would like to express how Mr Heth's private war against the Gallente has done nothing for the Caldari state except drive the profits of many corporations down. In the end, It's about the Isk, not the Politics. ---------------------------------------

*chuckling is heard as Inara's channel opens*
While your withdrawal from the "proxy war", as you called it, doesn't matter in either way to me. I have to laugh at the poor business practices you must be using.
War is one of the most profitable times of any economy, and if you are not capitalizing on it, I say you have shamed your Caldari heritage.
Pilot, my mind is staggering from trying to understand how any business is faltering during a time of war; perhaps you could enlighten me how your business practices have failed you this horribly... if for no other reason than to give me another good laugh.

I wonder, Inara, has it occured to you that they have left after realizing that being the frontline grunt in this kind of conflict where uncoordinated blobs go against uncoordinated blobs is hardly profitable?
Wait, you probably do. You just want a laugh.
Now I got to find something to laugh at myself, since I'm feeling a bit left out here. -------------------

War is always profitable for someone. However, that someone is usually not on the front lines. _

People continue to call this war a stalemate when clearly the tide is turning agaisnt the State Protecorate.
Clear continuing advantage in ship to ship warfare for the Federation. And now a clear territorial advantage as yet another system in Black Rise is occupied by the Federation.
Not knowing this particualr corp, perhaps they sense its time to leave a losing cause?

Val, I know both capsuleers and the media reports want to see it that way but I think it's premature...and were the sides reversed, we'd be calling 2, even 3 systems Not A Big Deal...I would need to see how long a trend continues, or whether the lead keeps see-sawing. The Minmatar grabbing six systems quickly and holding them, for example, is a rather clear trend, but even their progress has been slowed and backpedaled slightly. Yet even six systems can really be called "crippling", the way things are at the moment. If the momentum in the Ishaga contilation continues then we might call it "signifigant". Two or three systems out of dozens are what statisticians call "outliers". |

I would have to disagree with you on them being defined as outliers. They would be outliers if the state of affairs was fairly static and the systems where spread across several regions/constellations. They are not. they are in 1 region, 1 constellation.
those 3 systems are trend indicators.
As to it being significant or not.... well that is of course up for debate and interpretations on both sides. you might want to reevaluate your thoughts in a couple of days :D

its bad for business when a lot of your business is done in the Placid region and you go to war with the folks that live there.
A part of me is also upset that the militias are essentially being used as a tool so that the main parties do not have to bloody their navies.
I am not anti Caldari, I am Anti Heth. |

I for myself am really curious how the war will continue, I dont like Heth myself but I can't keep myself from hoping my people will show that we are not the ones for losing....but with the results the Amarr are showing I doubt that this coalition was good for us....Let the Amarr fight with the Minmatar if they want, but I fear the Minmatar might turn on us with time and a war on 2 fronts is not good....especially as I feel the Minmatar are more familiar to our cause then the amarr....

Actually I have been noticing more and more Minmatar Militia patrolling the Black Rise region looking for targets. And also seeing as how the State is "at war" with the Republic already there is not much turning to be done.

So the ones that were so eager to enter this war for the sake of their profit margins are now leaving it because - surprice surprice - it proved unprofitable in the end to keep it up.
Good riddance. While we have never traded blows in this war thanks to my long hiatus I'm glad to see your despicable kind gone from our space.
Perhaps now, when I return there will be more respectable foes to fight, men and women who truly think they fight for their nation and not for their... profits.
Good riddance indeed, don't let the door hit you on your way out.
