Do I need to grind standing BEFORE joining a Militia?

Chen Ho	Posted - 2008.08.13 21:05:00 - [1] So I decided to give FW a go.... but when I tried to join Gallente, I was told I need .5 faction! So.... I go to a Data Complex and do that annoying newbie mission and only get something like .18 when it is done! So..... I started grinding missions with the Federal Intel.... finally got a Storyline... do it... and am only up to .26!! Am I going about this is some lame-newbie fashion or is this just the only way to do it? TIA! Chen

Kahega Amielden Minmatar 24th Imperial Crusade	Posted - 2008.08.13 21:08:00 - [4] 1) Get some tags and turn them in to the datacenters 2) Do higher level missions for more standing gain. Train up connections to access level 2s immediately and run them. If you're bored, Alt + enter and run courier missions semi-AFK in a travel-fit destroyer (MWD + Cloak + nanos) or something cheap/disposable (just a destroyer) while trolling the EVE-O forums.
