Well, noticed the paintball thread so figured I'd make one for airsoft! How many of us play, hmm?
Right now all I have left is a Walther P99 spring-load, my old MP5 finally took a crap on me (also doesn't help I fell on it and cracked the barrel off) Hoping I can replace it by next weekend as we have a game to play with a group of friends scheduled, otherwise I'm forced to use a pistol the whole time... at least on a good note I have about four or five extra clips for it haha
 Eve is a game is supposed to be fun. |

While I don't play airsoft I can relate to the falling on your gun part. I bought a stiffy for my 98 and the very first game I take a tumble and fall on my gun breaking the barrel and bending my finger back. Neither have been the same since.

I've been thinking about buying a P90 actually. How much did yours run? I found what seems to be a semi-decent one for about 90 USD but as I'm sure you know without being able to USE it first, it's hard to tell.

I have a G-36 but I never use it anymore. It was cheap but still works great and is really light and comfortable to use o.O

I played airsoft for a bit. I wouldn't reccomend the P90 as when wearing a face mask its kinda hard to use.

Muskets are single shot. AK's are semi auto meaning bullets come as fast as I pull the trigger.

I don't even play airsoft but I have a Tokyo Marui MP7A1... I just like to shoot the neighbors.
I wish I got something bigger such as a G36C or such.

I've played it once with friends who are nutcases about airsoft. Fun sport.
I think they should make a sport involving real firearms and rubber bullets.

Man I wasted too much money on Airsoft...
Currently in ownership of a TM SPAS 12, TM/G&P SR16 (modded up the ass with a metal body, internal upgrades etc), TM MP7A1, Tanio Koba USP Tactical, KSC USP Compact, KSC MK23, Tanaka M700 AICS and a WA Infinity 6".
Good times. Used to skirmish a lot on Sundays, now Sunday is just a lazy day... i can't be assed. Plus being in the UK we can't buy the guns unless we play 3 times in 2 months... So i've pretty much left the scene.
That and I wanted to use my M700 AICS, but since that pulls about 550FPS on Propane, i can't find a site that'll let me legally use it.
Really wanna hit some of the Urban sites around my area, one of them is an old bunker about a mile underground... sounds like a respiratory nightmare though.

I've played it a couple of times, in Portsmouth U.K there is a disused underground naval base on a grid system quite deep in a hillside, litterally pitchblack inside. I just rent the gear being a poor student and use an ak-47 and get given some crappy boiler-suit, makes me look like a conscript against navy seals!

One day I'll manage to get out and actually purchase an Airsoft weapon. Until then though, I will continue to run screaming like a little girl as others use me for target practice.

Ive got a UTG 324, and a ICS AK 74.
Ive also got some electric pistol that I use when I play sniper with the 324. Call it common courtesy to not unleash the head shot on someone at 20ft with it.

ha.. airsoft thread, and just when I posted in paintball thread :)
anyways, I'm looking into airsoft (been doing that for half a year already) and now choosing my weapon to buy. thinking in the lines of g36 or steyr. main problem isn't actually the equipment, but airsoft clubs- I don't have very many players in my victinity

One thing that puzzles me is how airsoft players refer to their guns with the names of the real counterparts;
I mean, it totally doesnt matter how your gun LOOKS like, but how it PERFORMS. and that doesnt have ANYTHING to do with how it looks in the "real deal" version, does it?
or is there only ONE reputable airsoft gun manufacturer, and you dont even assume anymore people buy from somebody else, and therefor the gun name suffices to judge its performance? i would be very suprised if thats the case.

A lot of people have stated the manufacturer, only a few have used the real names of the guns.
For instance in my prior post, I prefixed the real steel model name with the airsoft manufacturer name. Which is, imo, how it should be.
Considering 50% of the point of airsoft is to be more realistic than paintball, I don't think its too far off to state the real steel manufacturer anyway when the thread is obviously about airsoft.

i was not only referring to the people in this thread. just a general impression about airsoft players.
its just like, paintballers seem to be a lot more technical when it comes to their equipment (and even those guys are lacking :D) and i would like to LEARN stuff.
i always considered playing airsoft, not because i like the military look. but because i think it can be cheaper ... heck i like to play war when playing paintball, sometimes, too, i just dont like those "labels" youre bound to, very quickly.

Most people (at least where I live) have modded guns, so to know one's performance you'd have to get a lot more info than just model and manufacturer, (such as spring strength, barrel size, rate of fire) and personally I wouldn't go through all that trouble just to brag about my gun on an internet forum.

It was about ú150 brand new.
But the new conditions on RIF sold in the UK, make it nearly impossible to buy one from a legit seller without looking like you passed it to a Halo weapon texture modder.

Don't use a face mask, I do use safety glasses though, yes it does hurt sometimes, but over 20m+ its barely anything (spring loaded snipers excluded!) or you can go all Teal'c with the P90's
A bit like;

I have an XM8. It was accurate, ran out of ammo quickly, short range, and fired sort of slow. The friends I played with had different guns, but we all invested about the same amount so no one had an overpowered rifle compared to someone else. I stopped playing when one of my friends decided to be a douche and fire point blank at my thumb with his rifle, leaving a permanent scar. If you play wear gloves. |

Airsoft totally pwns paintball, mostly because you can play it in your house, train your pets with it, and not wear any protective gear (as long as you stand at least 3-5 feet away from each other...) and the mess can be vacuumed up.
Plus in a pinch you can paint over the orange tip and use it to rob people. |
