I don't know whats more sick. That the news replays that clip every 15 mins. Or that I always stop to watch. |

He took a shot at a ride of his lifetime, doesn't quite turn out how he would've liked it I imagine. Can't feel sorry for him but I understand why he did it. |

Grab your board, head for the beach, find a good swell, go for a ride
Ride it out in the house
or
Board up the house and leave for a few days.
EDIT: That guy had to be FUBARed

On the one hand... it would take a floridian to be crazy. On the other hand... I have to figure that guy was a tourist.
Normal surfing isn't totally psychotic, slightly dangerous. But not suicidal. Kite-surfing is however 100% certifiable.
The weather is going to change out there like every 5 - 15 minutes. One minute fine then driving rain and heavy winds.
Why would you attach yourself to a parachute when you know the weather is bound to be that unpredictable?
And he's gotta be going at lest 20 - 30 mph. Look at the way his body kicks up sand as it gets dragged across the beach. |

They tether themselves in. There is a release in case of emergency... looks like didn't work or he was scared to release over the beach.
Would have been better than the pavement. |
