Edited by: GrayFoxV1 on 22/08/2008 05:09:11 Not sure what to say other then what is in the title. I click EVE which launches the splash screen then wait for it to load but when the splash screen finishes loading in the background nothing happens. All I'm left with is exefile.exe in the process list doing nothing. I have not had any issues with EVE previously and all I have done since I played it last night is install a custom picture pack which worked perfectly all night long. Please help!

Try changing desktop resolution and see if EVE re-appears.

This seems to happen when eve gets shut down improperly, either by shutting down the machine or stopping it via the task manager. The only way that I've been able to get it to work again is to uninstall, go into my documents and remove the eve folder where it stores the cache, then reinstall. After that it works fine. Something in eve just seems to crap out, I'm not sure what, and ccp doesn't seem to care much since a reinstall fixes it in most cases.

Solved it forme. Ran the CCP log program in the directory and saw that a file in GIDS in the Application Data folder of EVE was corrupted. Removed GIDS folder and it works fine!

I'm having this splash screen issue now too. EVE worked fine until I rebooted my computer for another issue and then it started doing this. Awful frustrating. Thankfully, I have about 6 days left on my train before I *need* to log in, but I'd like to get in before hand. Found the CCP log thing (logserver.exe) located in program files, but not sure how to use it. Will wait until my tech support gets home before going much further.
