actually, lasers can be used to move matter from one state to another so I see no good reason why (in the context of the game) you could not use this property to induce instability in a balanced fusion reaction.
The type that occurs in a star...
Yes it would be ****ing hard and take a ****ing lot of power

Better yet, implement a way to nova a star, so you can eradicate a system completely from EVE forever and of course destroying everything and anything inside it.

Don't forget to make it chain react with neighboring stars, which in turn do the same for their neighbors.

This is the way EvE needs to end. One day, CCP simply desides to no longer host and maintain the server. Everyone buys a 30 day game account for one last hurrah, and jovians come in and nuke the b*tch.

Maybe it's time you recognize that you don't really like to play EvE.

nice, twould be a good way to go if you knew for sure that it was the last month of eve ever, they need to make it complete and total anarchy, concord no longer responds, stations all become destroyable, so you cant dock up anymore, you can still "access" it somehow though, to get your stuff out of it, capitals would be allowed in high sec, doomsday weapons all around, anything that is restricted is no longer restricted (like bombs only in 00 space, no more, they are allowed everywhere), sentry guns are destroyable, outposts are destroyable
then on the beginning of "week 2" of the last month, the jovians decide to come in and try to settle everything down and prevent society from going down the hole, and then vuola, jovian npc's (destroyable obviously, just really hard to kill) then, on the 3rd to last day of EVE, the jovians announce they are going to purge New Eden, and bam, the jovians doomsday the New Eden wormhole or something that sets off a massive explosion chain reaction, and it just expands outwards destroying anothe rsystem like every 20 minutes or something, and if your in it, all you see is the sun "flutter" then flash, and pulse once, bam, half your ship's total hp is destroyed, it flashes again, and bam, your ship is down to 5% structure, and every structure in the system is destroyed w/ an AOE of 150km, and you see your ship go boom, and i suppose you could be transfferred to your nearest clone, assuming that system hasnt been destroyed yet, if it has, its game over for you, if not, you get to die again in whatever system you wake up in
then they can leave the forums up for another week or so, so people can tlak about how they went out

What you are implying here would basically wipe out the entire system, permanently. Could be handy for dropping const capital

Explosion probably wouldn't travel faster than the speed of light. That's what, eight minutes per AU?

wouldn't that destroy matter and make the star smaller and not a black hole?

Technically, it would depend of the blackhole mass. Not enough mass, and gravity wouldn't be enough to keep the matter compressed to the level of what a real blackhole can do. That would make a farily pretty explosion.
Enough mass, and it will just eat the star, no nova, or a very skewed one whose matter would only expand form the side opposite to the blackhole, then slow down, then be attracted by the blackhole gravity.
/me expect to receive a suing notice any minute now because an oversensitive afro-american person will be offended by the use of hte term "blackhole"... ------------------------------------------
