Greets,
Wondering if anyone knows of a way to copy all my client settings from one account to another, on this computer. I had to reinstall my client and would like to only have to setup everything once, for both of my accounts.

you can do it by copying the cache folder from your My Documents directory. I've done this before and fully advise you to NOT do this. It just leads to weird bugs and errors. Just setup your overview again.

Copy over the following directories from the documents & settings:
All users\Applications data\CCP [your user]\Applications data\CCP [your user]\My Documents\EVE
They should contain all the settings you need.

I'm not sure you understand. I want to copy settings from one account to another on the same client. By account, I mean EVE account, not Windows.

in the settings folder are files named for each account. for each account is a file called user_#######.dat (the #### is some long number). and this file apparently contains the overview settings, and a few other things. i tried copying one on top of the other awhile back and it seemed to work... the UI colors, overview, etc were all the same.
although since i like to have different UI color schemes between my accounts, i ended up manually re-entering the overview settings instead. my UI colors were setup back when you could adjust the header and subheader colors, which is no longer possible, and i really don't want to lose those color settings. ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |

Sure thing! Just hit "Export client settings" in one account and save them to a file, then hit "Import client settings" in the other and load that file. It's an extremely helpful feature...
...that they still haven't added despite years and years of requests.

At risk of sounding like a total dork, I can't find this settings folder, anywhere.
I've looked in all sub folders of my EVE client directory, in all six Docs & Settings sub folders' Application Data, and in My Documents. Nothing.

On my WinXP system it's located in: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings\
btw, if you mess with those files, be sure to make a backup copy just in case something gets effed up. ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.

Great, figures I have the one exception... or something.
I have six folders in Docs & Settings:
- All Users - All Users.WINDOWS - Default User (Hidden) - Default User.WINDOWS (Hidden) - <LogonName> - <LogonName>.<ComputerName>
The only one with a 'CCP' folder in it is "All Users.WINDOWS". In the CCP folder are four directories.
- c_eve_tranquility - e_eve_sisi_87.237.38.50 - e_eve_sisi_tranquility - e_eve_tranquility
The only thing these folders contain is a file called "58490.CODE" which appears to be compiled Python.

what's more, a windows search doesn't reveal a single file with either of my account names' in it.

Bleh, with the help of a file manager app, I was able to find the location of the settings folder. Was just as you said. Thanks for the help.
