Edited by: Captain Hodges on 23/08/2008 02:23:00 i have played this game for little over a month now and have gotten use to Frigates, Destroyers, and Cruisers, getting my skills up to be very capable as a pilot with drones and guns, and would like to move to something a bit bigger, im wondering which skills are essential for succesfuly piloting a Myrmidon or a Brutix, if you dont mind one set of skills for each ship would be great but just one set of skills for the ship you know best will be fine, thanks in advance

For armor tanking,
Hull Upgrades 4 or 5 for armor hardeners and damage control IIs. Repair Systems for armor reppers. Take it to 5 and get mechanics 5 for T2 reppers. Energy Management and Energy Systems Operation for capacitor regen to fuel the reppers Energy Grid Upgrades 3 for cap recharger IIs to fuel the reppers EM/Explosive/Kinetic/Thermic Armor Compensation skills to boost the resistance of Energized Adaptive Nano Membranes (but not the resistance of armor hardeners)
That's pretty much all the skills that are relevant to missions. At the bare minimum you should be ok for mission running with Hull Upgrades 4, Energy Grid Upgrades 3, Repair Systems 3, Energy Management 3, and Energy Systems Operation 3 so long as you equip armor hardeners specific to the type of enemy you'll be facing, and fill your mid slots with cap recharger IIs.

Hello,
If you plan to continue playing you'll want to decide when to train your learning skill tree. Rememebr, the sooner the better. I suggest doing it once you're in a ship you like and are using equipment you like.
There are two clear paths from cruisers for the Gal. One is the classic battle cruiser path. This is a good way to go. However if you've been able to save a bit of isk another option is the battleship path. The dominix is arguably the best mission running ship in the game and it doesn't cost much more then a Myr. It makes Lv 3 missions a breeze. Remember not to try Lv 4s right away though as it takes a bit more tanking skills to survive those.
For both paths you'll want to train Energy Management and Energy systems operation. For the dominix you'll want to be able to use large armour repairers. Other then that, you can get away with using medium rails and drones of your choice in level 2 and 3 missions.
Oh and rememebr, never fly a ship into missions you can't afford to insure.
Happy flying
