Ok,
So I hav a XPS 1730 with 4gb ram,100gb hd, duel 8700's and yet when i run the eve client it is all slow and junk? I can run FS2004 on full settings fine and pretty much any game on high settings. Why is eve acting up like this? Also sometimes when I start it the screen just repeatedly flashes with the music in the backround and i have to shut down. whats the deal?

First try running DxDiag (open the run command, then type "dxdiag" and hit enter) This will run a diagnostic tool to check DirectX.
If that checks out ok there are a few other things you can try...
* Ensure you don't have AntAliasing (AA) enabled in your GFX controls. - EVE uses HDR, DirectX does not support HDR and AA at the same time.. though it can work in some cases, it is not reccomended
* Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date - Perhaps even re-install your drivers even if they are up to date.. it cannot hurt
* Check your cache size - Once in-game open the graphics options tab in the esc menu and set it to "low"
* Try renaming your cache AND settings folders - CACHE/Settings locations: 2000/XP C:\documents and settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\client_folder_location Vista C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\client_folder_location
* Change VSYNC setting: - Graphics options -> check "advanced settings" -> Present Interval to one.
Let us know if any of these works for you. ____________________________ I break things.
