What would be the best race to cross-train to FROM Mimnatar?
It seems generally agreed Minnie BS's are currently rubbish unless you have uber-l33t skills, so what would a useful race be to cross-train with BS in mind?
*I don't particularly want to join the Caldari 'dark side' along with 99% of the EvE populace, but I already have reasonable amount of missile skills -> Raven (I know, I know.... so cliche)
*Gallente also seem passable... however mix of slow/fixation on drones (seems rather lame to have little bots doing your killing for you)is unappealing - also I have poor drone-rearing attributes
*Amarr seem least 'cross-trainable'

Still: amarr if you trained some armor and gunnery skills, they use those too.

like you said 99% fly caldarii anyways for missions.
I recammend Gallante if you wanna stay in a good guys ship, if you wanna use enemy tech, then Caldari is good too and can probably blow up any old rat with right missiles. The problem is Amarr is, their damage is predictable and easly countered and they DO only good against certain rats (so for missions youd need amarr standing and do amarr missions = working for the bad guys).

This question all depend on what minmatar related skill you have.
offensively minmatar uses : guns, missiles, drones (little)
Defensively minmatar uses : shield or armor or speed
Your crosstraining depends on the minmatar ship you uses, so depending on what you already have
Gallente if you already have skills in: armor, drone, gun
Amarr if you have: armor and guns
Caldari if you have: shield and missiles skills
I would go for amarr, and on a RP perspective, nothing like using the enemies weapons agains them.

Thanks Kabeil. Didn't really think of it in that light. Not terribly interested in RP, just decent bigger ships that aren't going to be nerfed...
Skills: (primary) Gunnery, Speed, Armour (Rifter/Rupture/Hurricane)/ (secondary) Missiles/Shields (Cyclone/Stabber... ...Crow)

Amarr: YES & YES... will need pew-pew lasers and more effort into cap skills (most appealing)
Gallente:YES NO! YES ...will need railguns and LOTS of learning skills in drone attributes (no lame pets please)
Caldari: OK & OK.. ...already have some missile and shields - simply need to improve... HOWEVER can also use these skills on minnie ships (Stabber/Cyclone) ...but still have the sneaking suspicion is most useful to cross-train to existing race

For every drone boat there's also an in-your-face, smell the blood, feel the splatter blaster boat. Which, given your sentiments about drones, suits your style just fine.
