tbh though- anything with getsu fune in the title is your best bet. it is my opinion that these videos feature the most expert situational management of anything on the market in the last year. it lacks flare but makes up for it with loads of abnormal ships/fits/situations. and also the music is always tight.
ide brag about my stuff but its all more than 6 months old, shit =( working on fixing that though

Gneeznow's Getsu Fune vids. (dammit, beaten to mentioning these by Kil2)
Oh yeah, anything by Kil2 as well. Might not be in last 6 months though.
Disorder was good, so was Infectious.
FRICK Elite is also worth the download.
There's plenty of other good videos that are worth watching, but not that many other than the above which really stand out for me and I would keep and watch again.

no offence ... whats so awesome in Friks Elite ?I can only give to that movie a 4/10 , no editing skills , no creativity , the content wasn't impressive ... ok its just about the content , some fights are good ...but I've seen better movies with better fights , like kil2's movies for example... In this movie there were some unskilled fights , like that one with carrier rr or others get ganked by u guys ...

Terror on the High Seas - very nice editing and Maelstrom action

hahaha ..why should I hate u ?:)) Yea the public like it good for them , but unfortunally this "public" don't know what a good movie means ...they think if u put 2 layers in vegas one with footages (with great fighst wow) and u throw a random song , then u must be a great moviemaker and the movie its awesome ... believe me , if I want to see a movie like that , I just open the winamp and then I'll go and search for some pvp ..:))
But u're movie don't have an "amazing" content ... I downloaded a lots of pvp movies from here , and I saw way better content sorry

fyi i am film editor for a living. i have just as much skill with after effects and premier pro as most of the great people in eve do. (not to sound ****y) just because i havent released a vid like that to the public doesent mean i havent been working. and please dont get ahead of yourself. ive seen better then fronteirs. even though i wont be a ***** and say it wasent enjoyable. cause it was.

Give some constructive criticism or STFU. All movies have good and bad points. I appreciate all the people that make EVE movies because without them we'd never remember some of the nice moments in EVE. No matter the editing.

I've been doing semi-pro video editing with various computer games for a number of years over in another community (own-age.com) and I believe there's two different categorizations in videos. There's the content showcases, which seem to dominate the EVE scene (like carebear sorrows etc.), videos mashed together often by just sequencing the content (and some timescale manipulation) augmented by some music.
And then there's videos 'about the game' which are less content driven, but often more inspired and abstract, these are the movies spawned from the editors creativity (like Lacrimosa and others).
None of these should be called superior or inferior to the other because both imply a different 'medium' of entertainment, the one inspires viewers primarily by impressive content, the other demands the viewer's attention due to some kind of a harmony in imagery and audio or a narrative of some form.
My experience tells me that content driven videos often have a larger appreciation under the player-base of the game depicted (especially with MMO's) but the 'creativity driven' videos are likely to be more appreciated by non-players.
Anyway on to the order of the actual thread, my personal favorites for the recent history would be
- carebear's sorrow
- clear skies
- tortuga - lacrimosa (dunno if it fits the timescale but whatever :D)
- one of them 'solo in a battleship doing crazy shit' videos by garmon/cown/gasi

Thats why this discussion its pointless ... btw u can make a content movie mix with some creative stuff effects and editing stuff in eve ; for example Rawr Cristina's movie ... it has a nice content with an ok editing ... and u should know this too wussie , your q3 tricks movies have more free camera shots than First person footages ... its kinda same thing here , but its harder to take free looks and first person cuz u can record the fight ..

yeah, it's definitely possible, hard, but possible. And yeah as you said, discussion and disputes about this are quite futile, some like one 'genre' others like the other. Combining the two would naturally be a Good ThingÖ but is one of the harder things to accomplish, I, for one welcome anyone pulling that off and providing some solid entertainment (and of course kudos to the ones that already did)

Dude, seriously stop. Ur making it look like you ting your better then everyone on this forum. Your making your self appear to be a bigger ass then you already are.
What are you trying to accomplish? The fact taht 5 minuet non hud vids rock more then pvp? Well some do. I wont lie. And for thsoe artists i share a great deal of respect for. Infact i respect anyone who takes the time to fraps under pressure. Not to just go on sisi and fraps dreads being killed.
I know im not going to be able to make a vid with the quality of kyoko sakoda's "push eject" or dire's "Lacrimosa". I know i wont get the same footage quality of farjungs "wave of mutilation 2". But that doesent stop me from having fun and doing what i love. Apparently alot of the "public" love it as well. My vids arent ment for people to say "aww" "wow" "amazing editing". Their simply there for people to say "wow that looked like alotta fun" "great fight!" "i want ur setups".

Now you sir. My problem with you is not that you flamed my video. Infact i welcome the ebert and roper of eve online. I just do what i can to let tem contribute to my next vid :).
My problem with you sir is this. You publicly insulted the viewers of all eve movies. And i for one am. I have never seen you post once before here, but as soon as the vid you "helped" put together came out you became mr know it all. Let me tell you something. You are no better then anyone who an put togeteher an insane non hud film. They are all of = enjoyment.
The public decides what they think is an awsome movie. Not you.
