the 15 degree undocking variability mostly affects ships like battle cruisers and above right? ships smaller than that will nearly insta warp 100% of the time, or is this incorrect? ____________________________________________________________________ mostly harmless |

If MWDing is, so should this.
How is 'you cannot activate a module' and being able to activate one, on the same par as using a bookmark to allow you to warp in a direct line away from the station?
One *might* be a mistake on the parts of the devs. The other is a players preparation. They seem far and away two different beasts to me.
Besides the obvious difference, you can counter player undock warps easily enough.
You know the exact direction they are going to warp, and you can easily set a trap for any such pilot. Been there done that. Watch as they blink in horror as they come out of warp on top of 3 intys and handful of BSs.
exactly, insta-undocking is something you can fight against, this inty's insta MWD'ing out isnt fightable since you cant get a point, cant web them, or anything

How can you fight insta-undocking targets if they aren't stupid?

The taranis did activate his mwd, since his speed went up to 1200 m/s rather quickly which wouldn't be possible as his base speed is a lot lower. If he did warp, he wouldn't be flying towards me for so over 8 seconds at almost constant speed...
1200m/s is not mwd speed for a Taranis. With nanofiber and T1 MWD you get close to 3000 m/s. This guys probably had overdrive injectors and snake implants.
If he can do 1200 m/s with his fitting he likely undocked slower than that and accelerated to his ship's max speed. Anybody knows the undock speed?
I think I didn't say it correct there. When he undocked he was going around 500-600m/s (can't recall exact figures), but when his speed went up we figured he had turned on his MWD, because he covered the about 50-60km in the time I tried to get a lock. So the 1200m/s was merely an indication that he had started his MWD, since his speed went up after that to a higher number which I also can't recall.

Start by getting someone to insta undock to their BM. Scan out the BM. Now mark it. The next time they use it, your fleet can be sitting there waiting.
Don't tell me this is impossible. It's not. It's hard, and it'll require someone VERY good with the scanner/probes.
You could also not station camp people. Just a thought. ______________________________________________ Goon FC(08/12/06):"its a trap" "that thing is fully operational" |

Docking should be one of the more skillful tasks of the game. Bump into the station you take damage kind of thing.

Originally by: Siigari Kitawa I believe the rules state that activation of any module or change of direction after undocking from a station removes your invulnerability for the 30 second undock session change.
However, activating a microwarpdrive does not seem to remove the undock timer invulnerability period. This gives small fast ships near immunity when undocking as nobody can tackle them for 30 seconds while they get some 100km+ off.
We set up a Rapier about 50km away from the station earlier. When a Taranis undocked, he turned on his MWD. I ordered the Rapier to uncloak and prepare to tackle. However all the Rapier was getting was "Target is Invulnerable" for some 10 seconds before the target had time to align and warp.
Is this an exploit, or working as intended?
I believe that you are a pilot who enjoys soloing around FW in large, expensive faction equiped. What's the matter Siigari, did you lose too many ships soloing because you chose to shoot friendlies when they didn't join your gang? Bitter much you can't do it all solo? So you have to yell and scream about "an exploit" to make this game more stupid, more "fair" - is this the new trend to a response in the problem of playing EVE? Ask for a nerf?
For those of you who don't know Siigari, just check his "interesting" losses on gallente.net.
