Major SOFcode z777 stands in front of the camera, tailored black uniform, in military posture.
Hail to the new soldiers of the State. With the new growing of new pilots in our Militia, I find it profitable to address a few of the F.A.Q ( frequently asked questions ) so our soldiers can go right to the matter at hand. So, new soldiers, take a moment of your time to read those and I ask our more experienced pilots to also complement this FAQ.
1- I have enlisted myself or my corporation. what now?
A: Welcome to the front lines Soldier. Now you serve the State above yourself and there is always much work to do. The first thing to be done ( if not yet) is to relocate to the field of battle. Our Home is Black Rise where our territory must be secured. The enemy home is Placid where we need to conquest. Remember soldier, you are now an enemy of Gallente Federation and the Minmatar Republic. Make sure to relocate through friendly space or you will get in trouble.
2- I have relocated and ready to fight Sir. What now?
A: Plan your war soldier. Make sure you have resources and ships ready for battle. There are two kinds of battle you'll find profitable to the State ( besides killing our opposing capsuler enemies of course ) and this is : defensive or offensive.
Defensive: you will belong to the brave soldiers who remains in black rise making sure that our systems are secured.
* how do I do this?
By defending our complexes and re securing systems taken by the enemy **** Remember soldier. Do not shoot our Statemen inside even if they might look a little bit as our enemies in ship overview. the best way to avoid this is: overview- settings- remove friendly npc ****
Offensive: You will enter enemy territory and conquest their sites.
* How do I do this:
Go to planet- open your scan- seek for anomalies- if there is an enemy site at the scan range you will have to warp to it. Inside, expect fierce battles against enemies that will try to stop you with all their forces.
Once the enemies has been taken care off, wait for the countdown to finish. You will receive a message as such ( or similar words ):
You have conquested a military tactical site for the State
Look at local channel it will say something as:
The site has been secured
Good job Soldier, you have done well.
3- About Complexes
A: You'll find 3 kinds of military sites ( complexes) while fighting with us.
* Minor Facilities, Minor strongholds ( small complexes) - You'll have to be using frigates, destroyers or industrials to be able to access them.
* Stronghold, Facility ( Medium complexes ) - Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers 8 tech 1, 2 ) to access them
* Major Stronghold, Major Facility ( large complexes) - Unrestricted.
4- Do I need to wait for a fleet to get some action?
A: No. Fleets are good for safety but they are not necessary. All sites above can be made if you are a pilot flying alone. If you have the chance and capacity, don't waste time. To the lines soldier! Keep an eye at your local channel for enemies. and just do what you must do.
5- When do I get promoted?
A: The Caldari State will promote their soldiers and officers accordingly. Promotion occurs by accomplishments. It's not the number of enemy capsuler ships you kill, but the conquests you make defending our territory or conquesting theirs.
You will start your career inside the Military as:
Protectorate Ensign
This rank is given to all soldiers who enrols at the Caldari Militia. A few conquests in our enemy territory should show to the State that you're worthy of trust and soon enough you will be promoted to the next rank. You'll receive a message on your mailbox from Caldari state as such:
date In response to your continuing victories against enemies of the State you have been promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant.

Second Lieutenant
You have proven your will to Fight but not yet your endurance. A true Caldari Soldier will this this rank as a challenge to find himself away from the crowd and having his name recognized by the mighty State once again. The promotion isn't that far. Seek it!
First Lieutenant
The time to separate kids from Men, civilians from Military soldiers at heart. From now on the commitment with the State is absolute. Only true endurance, honour, and hard work will be recognized with a large amount of patience. Don't think for a moment that the State won't be noticing you. When you least expect, you'll receive the notification like this:
In response to your continuing victories against enemies of the State you have been promoted to the rank of Captain.
And from this moment on soldier, only more work and more glory can await. Following the next ranks in line:
Captain
Major
Lieutenant Colonel
Colonel
Wing Commander
Strike Commander
Brigadier General

6- Work for State Protectorate Agents, worthy it?
A: As a personal advice I would suggest that you leave this task for a later phase once the main objectives of the war has been accomplished. ( fw missions are known to need serious recap. system seems largely broken, no risk/rewards balance )
7- How do I follow my accomplishments?
The State has developed a very precise system to let each one of their soldiers to follow their progress in daily basis.
Go to a Station belonging to Caldari, open your comm systems on "Militia" There you will find the Militia, your personal history and that of your corporation too.
For general information on the war as a whole, seek our outside comm systems at: War dynamic Statistics. Remember to check twice a day for updates.
8- What do I earn by serving the State or joining any kind of war
A: A question that I see frequently asked by novices. The answer is simple and unfortunately it will not include many of the expected possible words one would like to hear.
Leaving behind a capsuler civil life to become a military pilot means first of all that you have a commitment to yourself and your State. You'll be helping us to write an unique page of history at the Universe. The main question is not what after joining buy why you came in first place.
We are soldiers and patriots. There could be no better reward than serving the State that have served us and still does with their agents, police, rules, capital and mighty progress. Our reward is to be proud of carrying our ranks , of conquesting the enemy, or killing and dying for the State as long as the war goes.
There is no better reward than to know we are doing our work as patriots with fierce endurance for bad and for good times.
9- I'm ready to enlist!
A: If you have proved to e a good citizen of the State ( personal faction standing .5 or corp .5 ) the State will welcome you to the front lines with open arms. Seek one of our Stations and enlist yourself as soon as possible to join another 5800 pilots to glory.
10- I'm a single pilot. How do I make difference?
A: The State recognizes the honour and the importance of each soldier inside it's military. Every day,, single pilots are making the difference, every war has its heroes and they are unique, as you can be.
Caldari, the time is now. For the State, for Heth, I salute you.

Interesting, I always thought Caldari, trained in the rigors of a military system, would place their operational orders and directives where they are viewed only by their cadre. However I guess the rest of us are suppose to be impressed by the fact that the Caldari know how to make a basic operational manual.
Do your paid mercenaries get the same directives or do you use your fleet just for system defense and offense in the Military complexes where the chance of death is lower, leaving the real fighting to those that fight for the "golden coin of tribute" and not for the glory of defending an empire.
Remember you have to be careful with "hired dogs"... They have a habit of biting the hand that feeds.

11- I have scanned planets and found nothing, what does it means?
A: It can happen. It only means that all military sites at that particular system has been closed for the moment. Patience, make sure to scan all planets, and if still nothing appears, try again that particular system in an hour or so.
12 - I have found military sites at non contested systems, are them any good?
A: You will be able to complete any military site but you won't receive any rewards ( vp= victory points) for completing a military site in a system of your own faction that is not contested.
13- How long does it take to a bunker to become vulnerable?
A: this is not a precise answer but it takes turns of completing military sites at the system and gaining enough control to open bunker vulnerability.
Keep sending your questions or posting here, I'll try to answer the best I can.

Greetings pilot.
The Caldari Militia has different corps with different functions. Some concentrate on purely capsuler enemy engagements while others are concentrating on defensive and offensive territorial conquests. It will be a pleasure to address you to one of them. Feel free to contact me personally.

The recruitment section of the Galnet is this way. You might want to have the Heth loyalty software and other such devices in your interface removed so that it can restore the proper labeling function to your system. ----- *results may vary*

As much as you might want to have your reading systems updated. This is a military guide to new soldiers. If pilots wants to ask questions related to the warfare, this is the place. And if it encourages new pilots to the battlefield, it will be complementing it's function.

Now if what you are trying to do is to extrapolate the motivations of being recruited into the Militia or a small memoir of your experiences in the Militia then by all means continue. ----- *results may vary*

Ah Gorion leave him be please. At least its advising a better response to the adversities of war than we are used to hearing from the Caldari Militia in recent weeks. A field manual advising a fight back and hard defense is much preferable to the "hide in the state pro" or spend endless weeks demanding changes in the concord war legislation act to protect Heth's operations. Its even an interesting read at least.

Edited by: Victoria Ehr on 01/09/2008 08:44:29 Excellent information SOF.
To add, I highly recommend joining the State Protectorate Corp. You are much more protected from Anarchist wardecs, such as Jericho Fraction, they cannot touch you. This gives you more time to aid in the war offensively and defensively. Note these anarchists have already undermined a few militia pod corps. Dont let this happen to you!
Note, that if you are in a militia fleet, and jericho fraction attacks one of your fleet/militia mates that they are at war with, YOU cannot touch the attackers. That is right, your fleet has to sit and watch while one of your own is killed. As stupid as that sounds, that is the treaty of war we have to deal with. For now.
Dont remote rep your mate either, that is what jericho fraction wants so they can pick people off one by one, they know the rest of the fleet will get concorded if they get involved.
So just avoid these thugs and stay protected in STPRO so you can concentrate on the War!

Once we get enough people inside the safety of the State Protectorate and all of the pod corps are chased away by the jericho fraction and unfair treaty that allows them to do these things, then perhaps the treaty will change. Until then, Fight for the State! |

Interesting. When I left the FDU, I noticed that the trend was actually opposite; general FDU members would seek to join a capsuleer corporation so they could benefit from closer co-operation, organisation, tactics, coms and strategy than if all stayed alone in the FDU.
After all, two who stand together and support one another, is far more dangerous than four that fight alone.

I have a question, if I may?
If the treaty is so unfair, just ask your Dear Leader to withdraw its membership in the CONCORD Assembly, and break all those treaties. I mean, the State has done it before, what's a few dozen more broken promises?
You know as well as anyone else, even as addled as you are, that the second that those "unfair" treaties were broken, you would be piled on from all sides and obliterated.
But of course, that must just be the drug-induced mumblings of a psychotic, since the State always wins, right? Right? Guys...?
