Spend some time at a store that sells hand-painted scale Anime statuary and you will begin to understand what expensive is. These are scale MODELS. NOT TOYS TO PLAY WITH. They are intended to sit on a shelf and look nice. Not as a toy for a tot. As such, they are more detailed, heavier, and painted by hand to be as accurate to the in-game ships as humanly possible. They are artworks for you to display. As such, they are priced appropriately. Indeed, I have seen much smaller scale stuff from Anime shows go for MUCH MORE than these, and people snap them up. However, if you are not the collecting type, then don't buy one. But don't expect CCP to lower the price because you are ignorant of the market for collectible statuary. The price of the models themselves, while certainly a premium isn't exceptional if you're familiar with similar sized models, in fact it's pretty decent given their size. As for happy in the pants, nothing wrong with that, they're pretty gorgeous.

This could lead to being the most expensive table top war game ever! (I know its not actually) But really Imagine the possibilities! Granted a fleet of these buggers is going to set you back some two plus grand. But so worth it. I wish I had that kind of money :(, but really CCP what do you think! I play RL to get away from Eve :)
