A tad bit rough around the edges, this time.
I'm going to have to work on my grill-TomB-for-ship-info technique, else he's a slippery one. :/ I'll grill 'im better in the future, I do hope.
Oh, seeing as we didn't get time for intros in the session...

I know there are going to be some gripes about the way this session went. First off, I would like to apologize for the late start with this session. There were some problems behind the scenes that got us off to a rocky start. I would like to thank all the delegates for their patience while I got the issues resolved and tracked down some Devs to answer questions.
It's been 2 months since the last session and there was a little rust. However, I think all the kinks were worked out and the rest of the cycle should go well.

Don't see anything wrong with the questions, all pretty good.
The answers however were basically of two types:
a) we've fixed this in a patch/Shiva which might or might not come to the live server sometime maybe b) never heard of this bug because our bug reporting system is very clumsy up until now that we have a new system

Edited by: GrendelPrime on 08/06/2004 19:16:35 Edited by: GrendelPrime on 08/06/2004 19:15:08 Bah!!... they still haven't given an answer to where the Scrapmetal reprocessing skill is. Honestly, I know its a small thing to be harping about given the current round of changes soon to hit TQ. But I would think that that skill cannot be that different then all of the other ore specific skills that were introduced with Castor. The lack of this skill on the market is only made more frustrating/mysterious, by the lack of any decent answer given by any of the Devs in the last several CSM meetings. Its like the Devs don't even want to talk about it... I can't belive that a little skill like that would be that hard to code/balance

It was an accident, I thought I was in a convo with him, looked away and when I looked back in-game ...
Wasn't intended as a slam on my part, either. I think he took it in the spirit in which it was intended. Looks like we have a very good group of delegates, regardless of what some others may think or say.

Well I think this is .... interesting:
Originally by: Papa Smurf The only noticable change is coming next patch, where the NPC->player corp standings change somewhat in nature.
Currently they are updated on a per-mission/per-kill basis for each corp member. After the patch they will be updated once per day, using 75% of the prior value of the standing in question and 25% of the average of all of the NPC->corp member standings.
This is a step towards making these standing values more usable in the future.
You'll have to forgive me but I think this will need clarification. It's a hard answer that isn't all that clear.

So the flyable faction ships are empire based and not pirate? What was that about a Sansha Battleship in the Shiva notes then?

I really wished they would of asked TomB something about how he thought choas balance testing was going.
Things like: What points does he really like about the new balance changes. Does he think the Apoc is now on par with the other tier 2 BS's when it comes to PVP DMG dealing. What does he think of the Dominix now. His views on the new cruise missiles launcher for BSes and what he thinks of the raven now. Does he feel the raven is more powerful, less powerful, or the same as before ect....

nk ya mr flip ;) - cheers on your sig by the way.
We had some worries about this csm - both before (more of a sneaky suspicion), during (...slammed!) and after...
But considering the time we got to prepare i think it was ok on our behalf - i learned alot about the mechanics of blueprint copies anyway :)
To bad we didnt get to prioritize our questions before the csm due to the short amount of time (yeah yeah, i hadnt read my email) ;) - got some good questions up me robe
...new sig coming up Ravenal - Fate is what you make of it. |

Kretin: if y'reread that, it appears the initial faction ships will be specialized by race and empire a bit further. However, pirate ships will follow the racial faction ships. Wish I could've wringed more out of him on that all, but he didn't take to my examples of specific factions.

Edited by: Slam on 09/06/2004 22:52:51 Damn I had hoped the *silly* "show pilots in space" feature would have been adressed.
..or more precisely a CCP reaction to this thread:
http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=64572
Pretty much everyone taking the time to read the thread agrees that the local chat display and the "show pilots in space" destroyes a lot of fun in 0 sec space.
Some good ideas on that thread - and a few that would be real easy to implement.
*sigh*
Perhaps next csm then.

DUDE!!!!
I submitted questions about drones, I was the 2nd question on the CSM Question topic.
DID YOU SEE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT DRONES!?!?!?!
Seems that they avoid the tough questions that they have nothing good to talk about and pretend it was never asked!
Now I just think of CSM as a joke since they don't even LOOK at the list of questions that are asked.
I guess by not answering the Drone questions they seem that any response they would give would seriouly upset players using drones.

Quote: Papa Smurf > All of the bugs you mentioned are as far as I can tell either resolved or have never reached dev-land. But then again, you didn't give very detailed descriptions.
Most questions brought up were ages old and regarding bugs anyone who spend time playing encounters.
#1: Why don't the devs fix common bugs that bothers everyone before introducing new features.
#2: Why don't they answer straight "we won't fix these bugs in the close term and have no due date as we are prioritizing the upcoming shiva features"
Instead of giving lame excuses for ¢ a year in CSM chats.
I guess their non-answering answers my questions. They consider it greater value with working with new features so these age old bugs will never ever get fixed.

WHY do you think alot of us from Beta stick around, because DEV's used to be responsive, UNLIKE other game.
The "Other games are worst be grateful" is a lame explaination/excuse.
We are PAYING customers this is NOT a FREEWARE program/service.
CCP needs to stop the Politician double talk and vague promises that they don't keep. It is obvious by the lack of having a fast action hardware upgrade plan already done and ready to implement, without affecting future game develpoment, that CCP is doing everything by the "seat of the pants".
The lack of any major change to Drones for over a year, especially a better control interface that has been asked for since early stages of Beta, clearly shows the "scattered brain" metality of the DEV's and CCP.
All this SOON (tm) nonsense has gone way past the "wearing thin" point with those of us that have been very active with EVE for 2 years+ now.
To be honest E&B players that I have talked to are quite surprised that EVE has far less storyline/mission/special places content 1 year after release than E&B had in BETA!!!!
(I used to play E&B and I know this for a fact)
The fact that is was discussed, and promissed, by the DEV's that approx every 6 months that there would be major content releases in the form of Tech lvls (we should have already started Tech lvl III).
The DEV's can EASILY add higher tech levels from Tech VI and higher into the game at later dates once we hit the current max. Plus after being around for 2 to 3 years major updates would be needed anyways to keep the game "fresh".
The sad thing is that I WAS one of the biggest supporters of the EVE game idea. I have lost count how many forums/discussions on many other non-eve topic boards I have had before game release talking up the game.
Sadly I now feel sorry for those I had encouraged to play EVE since MANY of the promises made of things to be in the game at LAUNCH have still not been implemented 1 year later.
CCP has done a poor job and I have to sadly give them the 2 thumbs down for their effort on making a game with great potential into a boring routine with combat being done only by campers using GAME DEFECTS to play.
