Edited by: Bahzell McIntyre on 30/08/2008 01:12:43 At my one year anniversary, I had 17,759,226 SP. Is this a pretty good rate? I mostly focuses on learning skills first (All 11 to level 5)
Edited because I'd mis typed 18m instead of 17m

grats on wasting a year of playtime doing learning skills. Gasp, you'll have a whopping 15 percent more SP (which is really meaningless past 30 anyhow) than someone who actually had fun for 1 year.

Ah, attack of the uninformed! How to respond...
Hmmm, I think we'll talk about the fact that of the 18.2m SP I currently have, 5,376,000 is Learning skills. A year, I think not. Of course, your logic may not be any stronger than your ability to count SP.
Furthermore, due to RL issues, I was able to log in almost at will, but for only a few minutes at a time for a little over 3 months. I wouldn't have been able to "Have fun" during the time those skills were training anyway, and it made the following 9 months more pleasant to never have to wonder if I should have worked on learning skills instead.
Now leave, or I shall taunt you again.

Grats on 1year mark :) almost 18mil is pretty nice, its about that 1.5mil/month thats the golden rate.
Also dont worry too much about learning skills, their nice to have at decent levels and the longer you play the more greatfull you ll be you had them.

Just for the record, my achura alt will have around 19M at her first birthday. That with basic learning 5 and advanced to 4. The difference isn't huge. :)

The difference is in stat balance. A int/mem spec'd character who works on only int/mem skills can equal the sp/hr rate of a balanced person with all 11 learning skills done, or a perc/will spec'd character.
My MIN sp/hr is 2112/hr according to Evemon, max is 2376. The difference becomes more apparent as you work on skills you're weak on. Yes, I did the Chr skills too, I have plans toward Fleet command and the social skills have had a definite impact on level 4 mission running rewards.

good, im not the only one w/ crappy SP rate going
atm i have around 3.2milion SP at around 6 months, however i did have 2 characters up until a month ago in which i was alternating their training times, so my SP growth on this character has been SEVERELY stunted during my life so far, but i have stopped training skills for my "alt"
i do have most learning skills at lvl 3 or 4, the beginning ones anywhoo, not the advanced ones
i honestly try to avoid training any skills to lvl 5 unless necessary, because tbh, they just take a long time, i mean cmon, almost a MONTH to medium hybrid lvl 5? that is quite frankly insane, and simply for t2 guns, so my options are to have my character stay the way he is right now, and get t2 medium hybrids, or train a few other skills so i can do more
atm my line of thought is to train a bunch of skills so i can open up what i can do alot more, though i can do them crappily, i can still do them
after i get those up, then im going to start training skills to higher levels, but still 24 days to medium hybrid turret to lvl 5 is a bit extreme
why train ONE skill to lvl 5, when i can train like 10 other skills to lvl 4 in the same amount of time, you konw? (thats how i currently see things)

but it does eat at me as well, i have EFT and i run tons of setups through it, like for example i will run a t2 setup for a ship with the skills i HAVE , not even qualified to use t2 just plain ole t2 weapon stats, and they do around 50-60% MORE damage easily , again thats just with t2 stats and ammo i find that a bit extreme
in the beginning that is doable because you are going to build up a list of skills for you to use different mods and ships. but after a while you will start to specialize more and more for certain things and then those lvl 5 skills arent that bad actually. i enjoy not having to remember when to change skills for which character
