I'm glad to hear you got Gin back, I'm sure she had a fun trip down stairs, and hopefully won't try that again. Just stay positive that Malibu will return, and everything will be all right.
To Mr. Annoing: While I can't quite see hamsters wearing clothes, my guinea pigs had cute sweaters, would wear little hats and eat salad off a small saucer at the table. Also you have the right to post, but there is a certain level of decency you should maintain in your posts, this isn't CAOD, don't post like it is. It's TX's choice, you're not his boss, why fuss over it?
In closing, I hope Malibu returns safely soon as they stress of her being MIA must be getting unbearable. -------------------------------------------------- Everyone is born right handed, only the great over come it.

Thanks :-)
Of course I'll let everyone know if/when Malibu comes back :-)

Grats on the news And honestly, it's nice to see someone not ashamed, and comfortable enough with themselves to be emotional about something in the testosterone-ridden e-peen waving standard fare which is the eve-o forums
Speaking of which...
I was going to make some kind of retort to annoing about how it's kind of narrow minded, self-centred and insular to assume there's only one correct way of ever seeing the world (his, conveniently) but then I realised the obvious (I'm a bit slow today) - he's just trolling you. He has no interest whatsoever, while you're clearly emotionally invested. This gives him an advantage and the opportunity to hurt someone while being protected from any consequence whatsoever. Inferiority complex tbh, but this is the interwebs and it's hardly rare.
I'd advise you to either stop posting about things you care about, or get a thicker skin and not respond, but given the responses in this thread have been largely positive, and might actually be helping you, keep doing what you're doing... __________________________ Indulge Me Consider Yourself Indulged - Immy ♥ Wow immy scored - Xorus

Hey annoing, blimey, take it easy mate. Dunno if you're having a bad day or what, but you're normally a good bloke around these parts (OOP at least, can't vouch for anywhere else!), and I can't see why you're going crazy ape nutso over this.
Want a tip? (what, "no" you say?)
... Step away from the internet and go and grab a beer!

Saturday, 14:09PM BST.
My gf left one of the lids slightly undone on the hamster house last night. I was told not to get out of bed first thing this morning by a slightly panickey GF (in case i stood on one). I called work, told them I won't be in, and we started the hunt. We've turned the ENTIRE flat upside down and inside out. Like, put everything carefully at one end to clear the floor, and slowly but surely put things item by item in a big heap in that clear space in the lounge. We've used propper hamster fencing and some other bits to seal off the pile from everywhere else - we KNOW that they're not in the section of the flat by the front door, and we've 'sealed' that off from hamster-access. We KNOW they're not in the bathroom, so that's sealed off.
The bedroom is also clear. There's almost no chance at all that they're in the hallway. They're either in the kitchen, somewhere where we can't find them, or they're in the lounge, in amongst the pile and we missed them completely. But so far, there's absolutely no trace of 2 out of the 3 of them. We found one hiding inside last weeks' hamster housing that was left in the kitchen waiting to be cleaned out and returned to the box of hamster housing. She seems to be fine.
Something I'm worried about is that it's quite a drop from the table to the floor, and if they're injured, they could have gone somewhere VERY difficult to find them, and have died in a corner somewhere, however, the one we did find seems to be fine after her ordeal. At the time of posting, they COULD have been out for anything up to 14hours now, without food or water, except what they could find on the floor.
There's no way they could have left the flat. I'm hoping I can show you the video i recorded of our efforts to find them, keep an eye on this post for updates.
We've set 'traps' to catch them, containers with fresh food in, and a ramp so they can get in but not out.
There's a teeny tiny possibility there's a hole hidden from view in the corner of the kitchen and that it either goes somewhere deep and dark and non-returnable from, and then of course there's a chance that they both found that hole and will never be seen again. However, we can't find the hole - so not sure if there is one.
Any suggestions/advice?
Had quite a few hamsters in my life... You basically can't seal off an area so they can't get out... they can even slip through the bars of the cage... one of mine did that once... had to kill him afterwards by giving him an aspirin... he slipped through the bars and got stuck between the cage and the wall and slowly started sliding down the wall. so he basically smashed his whole face and skull and half his body... Only thing i could do when i got home, was to give him some aspirin... They even can pass closed doors... as long as they aint hermetically sealed...

I've always thought of Annoing as a cranky old British man with a touch of Alzheimer's. But this makes me think maybe the character was sold to a used piece of toilet paper.

Good to hear some of the Hamsters have been found, now lets hope the final one comes back safely too. Pets become a part of the family after a while, and i'll certainly admit that I share your sentiments TX. I cried my damn eyes out when one of my 2 cats passed away. (we put her to sleep, acute kidney failure) So I hope that your bundles of joy are all ok including the missing one.

Are you feeling ok Annoing? You're not normally quite this abrasive, perhaps you need more fibre in your diet.

Edited by: Jorana Rowan on 02/09/2008 19:37:37 TX, I'm so glad you got Gin back. More, I'm finding it utterly heartwarming that you chose to share your happiness at getting her back. Mind you, do you always do videos semi-naked?
There are always going to be people around who, sadly, do not get to feel that extra special love that a lot of us can feel for our pets. Its almost like they lack a sense dimension, or perhaps they can only feel it with their own babies or something. Never going to change them, best to just ignore them I came across this type of ignorance when we lost an eight month old kitten to cat leukaemia. Most people understood how devastated we felt, but there were the odd couple of people who just didn't get it.
Here's hoping that Malibu will come home.
