how can i make 400m a month with a 30 day old, mining character, i have a mining barge which mines 1770m3 every 3 mintues and a 2700 m3 cargo bay.
Any ideas?

OT. Mine, mine some more and keep on mining until you can fly a Hulk. Or you go for mining missions and check out a profitable way to invest those LPs into.

To really make isk mining you need the hulk, it has very nice output. Or mine in a gang with bonuses and haulers.
I make isk by doing lv 4 missions.

As I said, try out a mining agent. You should make more ISK with a good mining agent at your level of skill than belt mining. And you'll get standings and loyalty points.

umm ok, only problem is that i dont have a hauler but i could train a badger with 11000m3 in a day or so

No, they really don't. At least not until you have a lot of skill points invested in them. For quick cash, mining characters are faster start up and lower training times involved. Plus there is a lot more involved with missions and making money compared to mining. I love the fact that I can take a few mining barges out, be fully insured and make a few mil mining with what is now zero overhead. Mining ships pay for themselves much faster than a mission ship does. Mining ship, 20 million max I've seen. Fully insurable and will pulling 100 times it's worth of ore before it's insurance contract runs out, in 2 months of training. Mission ship...Either you spend many months training and running missions to get to level 4s, which can't be done cheap fitted until you can use all T2, or you have massive overhead to build a mission ship which will take at least 4 weeks of solid mission running just to break even. This does not include salvage, which is it's own beast. Those making more than miners doing missions are those that have upwards of 12-14 million skill points dedicated to their character in tank and gank. Miners can make the same money with 5-6 million skill points.

Assuming you're reprocessing the ore and selling the minerals, the best ore to mine in hisec is currently kernite (can be found only in amarr space). Followed by plagioclase and scordite respectively.
btw with your mining yield you should be netting at least 2M/h mining any ore in hisec. Do you have good refinery skills? Make sure you're reprocessing your ore in a facility with 50% reprocessing yield.

Generally you should refine, as the minerals get you more cash than raw ore. It's bes tto get refinery efficient up a little bit as well as possibly some corp status with whomever your using to refine at.

You also have to take into account where prices are pulled from. While kernite does give you that awesome number of best ore in high sec, how far are you going to have to travel to sell it for that price. Most prices are pulled from Caldari space that I've seen and if you use the ore/mineral calculator and plug in Amarr prices for all of the minerals you'll find that it is actually not the best. Especially considering that kernite in Amarr space is not as concentrated as say scordite or veldspar. And if it is then there are groups that concentrate efforts on being their first and getting it before you do. No guide or tool will ever be able to tell you exactly what to do in this game to make the most money, just give you ideas on how you can try to do so.

Well that wasn't my point. I do agree though hulks are **** for miners.

Depends on the time you can use:
If you got 3hours/day, on a 30 day month, you get 90 hours/month to get 400 mil.
400mil/90 is 4.4mil/hour that you need for your quota.
If you got 3hours/work day, it's only 60 hours of "isk gather time" and you need 6.6mil/hour.
Neither is hard to achieve.
Now if you only got 1 hour/day on workdays alone(i feel for you dads), you get 20 hours/month and need 20mil/hour to get 400mil
By the way, for 4.4mil/hour, you need to mine(straightsold) pyroxeres: 245k units. Again, very doable.
