Okay, so I hadn't really played for a few weeks. I updated the drivers for my 9600 a while back and just today I've finally gotten the skills to fly interceptors. So I load up some autocannons and fly out to do some plexing/ratting/pillaging/senseless killing and what not to test it out and as soon as I start up the gunfire it bluescreens.
This is a Claw btw and the instant bluescreen of awesome feature activates when using autocannons and arties. I just tested my rifter and guns on a can and no bsod.
So what gives? Does EVE hate me? Will I never be able to fly the ships I spent the last few weeks training for? |

Turn off sound to see if it makes any difference. If you got onboard sound, it may be crappy and can't handle the sounds. |

Interesting. It seems to have fixed the bsod problem. I have onboard Realtek ALC883 which is HD & supports 7.1. Maybe I'll mess around with some different drivers for it. That would blow to have to get a new card because one game out of the many I play has a problem with the onboard audio.
Thanks mucho |

I don't think different drivers may solve the problem, but go ahead - maybe you're lucky!
IMHO, a separate soundcard heightens the gaming experience a lot so it's worth the extra cash and time installing it... |

if you cant update your realtek sound drivers because it "fails" or it does no help read below step by step yay
1. download the latest drivers for your Realtek sound. 2. right click "my computer" 3. go to "manage" 4. in the "computer management" window, go to "device manager" 5. when you click on this find "system devices" and expand that 6. find "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver For High Definition Audio" 7. disable this and uninstall it 8. restart you computer and install your Realtek drivers
you should now be able to enjoy eve with sound pounding in your ears. also you will want to download the latest drivers from the Realtek web site for you hard ware, Do not just use the one that came with your motherboard as almost all hardware you buy from the store the drivers are updated before you even buy it. if you have anymore problems send D desu a evemail

Edited by: Anthropos Phagein on 02/09/2008 21:53:58 I updated to the latest drivers for just the sound card and it worked. Was interesting that it only crashed when using artillery on the Claw. I mostly use artillery so it's not like it has to do with just that type of sound.
Thanks for the reply desu, luckily it let me update just fine. I may still look into getting a separate audio card too.

I actually have the same onboard sound and have been having the same problem. Just updated my mobo's sound card drivers... hopefully that'll fix it.
