So I just completed an escalation that started in a .7 and took me about 50 jumps in total across three regions. It had some ts frigs at almost every stop and they dropped nice frig ammo (sansha) and a small ts emp smartbomb.
I was fairly encouraged when it finally led me to a two stage complex, cruisers and frigs, in a .4. In the second room there was a true centii revelator overseer frigate. Now I'm hopeful I'll get some overseer effects at the very least, perhaps tier 5 or 6, similiar to a sansha 3/10 complex. Perhaps even a decent drop.
Imagine my suprise when I see 3 units of blue pill and 12 units of slaves in this wreck. This leads me to question:
1. Ffs what are blue pill and slaves even doing in a escalation boss loot table?
2. Is this (and by this I mean useless blue pill and slaves) fairly indicative of an average loot drop of the boss in a successful highsec escalation? Because I don't know how anyone would take the time to complete them at all, if it is.
3. Fix it? If you're going to put useless fluff as a drop for a boss in lowsec for the end of these escalations the least you could do is make an item called "Abstract On The Instability of the Exotic Dancer Futures Trade, Post Amarr/Minmatar Conflict, by Akita." Or something like that. It'd be good for a laugh at the very least.
My conclusion: don't waste your time with escalations in highsec. I sure the hell won't again. Gay.

Hi. I just did some exploration in hisec and went through a fairly long escalation. I cannot accept the fact that Exploration is random and that sometimes things are not going to work in my favor, so I'm going to post on the forums to ***** about why I should be guaranteed some phat lewts from an escalation.
A bit more seriously: Exploration is not guaranteed income. Every time you ran into one of those True Sansha rats you had the chance for incredibly awesome, valuable loot. The dice rolled and you lost, that happens. |

Would you like a medal? Do you think that just because you did a 10/10 plex that you're guaranteed wtfomg loot? |

I have to agree with this. I've done about 2 dozen of these sites and the best thing I ever got was a little faction ammo. They are just not worth the time.
At this point I would HAVE to get a ZOMFG drop just to recoup my loss of time. I could've made hundreds of millions CONSITENTLY by mining/missioning/other kinds of sites.
Conclusion: although, apparently, there is a chance of getting and AWESOME drop from these kinds of sites - you're better off playing powerball or one of the in-game lotteries. |

So, you didn't really read the OP? You seem to have comprehension problems...
My ***** wasn't that I didn't get phat loot, my ***** was that there's fluff guaranteed to be worth nothing in the drop table of a successful escalation overseer boss. Not even any crappy small faction crystals or anything like every ts frig drops. Not even a ts copper tag you can refine into 1 or 2 nocxium.
Short and sweet: I know full well that exploration isn't guaranteed income. But the crap loot is worthless and needs to be removed from the tables. |

I'd tend to agree with the OP, after doing all that jumping around, you ought to at least get a tag or some small ammo, getting nothing seems a bit off, I mean fair enough in WC not getting anything but the end of an escalation should get you more than some drugs which you probably cant even sell.

I hate the looting in EVE anyway.
You just get several metric ****tons of shit that isn't even useful. Be it a level 1 or a level 4, the only difference is how many metric ****tons you get at the end of it.
Why can't we just have a couple of decent items drop rather than loads of completely worthless ones?
As for escalations, doing that much shit for nothing seems a bit off. Even if you didnt get a bucketload of faction goodies, i think at least one faction item would have been fair.
I found an overseers can in one of my scanned out sites protected by an absolute assload of ships. Naturally I fight my way through, only to realise the can has disappeared when i'm done.
Great.

I agree with the thread starter to be honest, at the very least you should get a high end named module if your not gonna get a faction one, like for example you could get a fleeting webber, granted its not faction loot but at least itd be something half decent.

Erm... making money is a necessary drag.
In light of the mission runner demographic, I think I can speak for a huge population of Eve when I say that taking the path of least resistance only makes sense.
