Hi
So I've just returned to Eve after 18 months but I'm in need of some advice please.
My character was quite new (1.7m skill points) and although I remember the basics of playing the game I really cannot remember where I was going with my character in terms of skills/ships etc.
I'd rather go the ratting/mission route rather then mining but could someone please take a look at my skills please and give me some idea where I'm going right or wrong.

At the moment I am in a merlin but I know I just got my first Cruiser skill. I'm really not sure I have the other skills I'd need to fly a cruiser properly though so please help :)
Thanks |

OK. Your skills look fine for someone who probably started off as a Caldari soldier. Some things are of course missing (moar missile and shield skills if you want to be the typical Caldari), but at 1.7m SP, what kind of a character does not have something missing?
What I would consider worse is that your attributes are pretty far away from optimal for a missioner. Low skills can be fixed with a little bit of training, but bad attributes stay forever. With perception that low, it would take you quite a lot more time than it has to to train your actual killing skills. Your Int/Memory would make the support skills much easier, but... I really would not want to go into a lot of combat training with a character with 6 base in both perception and willpower. =(
If you can handle the boredom of training your learning skills again, I would suggest you start over. Characters begin with 800k+ SP these days, so you would be losing... about a month. But "better" stats could save you quite a bit more than one month if you intend to stick with this game for a while.
If you do not like the idea of starting over... uh, train shields and missiles? :P |

Ouch that's was I was afraid of - I relearnt the game on a trial account but couldn't find a way to check my old character skills without reactivating my account.
I guess the best thing for me to do at the moment is a load of research and think about starting again - at least I have some cash items to begin with now.
Thanks for the help :) |

Edited by: Arkadrel on 01/09/2008 21:04:13 base attributies;
10 int 6 per 6 chr 6 will 11 mem
= sounds like a dedicated miner, your in a mining corp, but you only have 250 SP in mineing?
your skilled like a missioner, but your on a bad path with 6per/6will base.
I suggest makeing one of these: (these are base attributies before learning skills / implants or anything)
Amarr>khanid>cyberknight ; +3per +2int : 14p 8i 8w 4m 5c
Caldari>achura>monks; +3per +2int : 12p 10i 8w 6m 3c
Min>sebi>rebels ; +3per +2int : 11p 9i 7w 6m 6c
min>brutor>slavechild ; +3int +2per : 13p 7i 9w 4m 6c
gallente>jin-mei>Jing ; +3per +2int : 13p 7i 7w 5m 7c
def. go back and make a Achura if you want a really good stat base, and want to make a good mission runner. If you want to try something differnt than missiles try Amarr or Minmatar ;) highly recammendable.

Caldari-Achura bloodline. Ill-advised if you like looking at your portrait and/or have qualms using a female avatar.
Another good start is over the fence in Gallente. One of their starts net a 7-8-8-8-8 start (7 charisma), and I have to admit, drones are actually of some use now that CCP fixed most of the issues that drone users had to contend with for the past 3-so years. |

Amarr khanid cyberknight might also be a good path for you, they can achieve some pretty... balanced stats. |
