I've recently started running lvl 4 missions in my shiny new apoc. I've had issues on several missions, and am wondering what setups others are using. Currently running this:
Highs 8x Mega Afocal Pulse Maser I
Meds 100mn AB I 2x Cap Recharger II (one might be named) Optical Tracking Computer (optimal script)
Lows Heatsink II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Damage Control II Armor Explosive Hardener II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Large Armor Repairer II
Rigs Energy Burst Aerator I
Planned Rigs Capacitor Control Circuit I Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Despite having Amarr BS 5, I cannot use T2 lasers (disadvantages of training while away). I have been playing on and off since 05' and have little experience in BS's. I know that many suggest running type specific tanks, but i find very little improvement in actual resist %'s. I am thining of trying to build a tank around a LAR2 and 2x HS2 if possible. All setup advice is welcome. Flaming, arguing, going off topic and/or ridicule is not welcome.

Your setup doesn't look too bad although personally I'd bin the AB, its just not needed for mission running. Your pulse have good enough tracking especially if you switch scripts when appropriate, I hardly ever use the optimal script.
I've found that you can comfortably run lvl 4's with a single LAR II and mission specific resists providing you're kicking out sufficient dps. The quicker you kill the less damage you take. Train those tech II guns asap, in the mean time try dropping your damage control II for another heatsink II and your AB for another cap recharger if you struggle with the extra load.
Everyones got a different idea on it though so just experiment a bit until you find something you like.
http://www.battleclinic.com/eve_online/index.php is a good place to look for inspiration, but try to understand what you're fitting and don't just copy things.
Good luck and stuff...

Looked around, saw a bit of what i'm already running and alot of laughable fits. stuff like ACs and named reppers....
overall, not impressed with it as a tool for fitting ideas, i do better on my own and on these forums.
more fitting suggestions please! |

Edited by: Terianna Eri on 02/09/2008 19:57:40 Good old Amaranth I, never let me down on any mission, ever. (disclaimer: I do not bring this ship onto every mission, particularly against anything with angels or guristas that are mandatory to fight)
Quote: [Apocalypse, [AMR] Amaranth I] Large Armor Repairer II Armor EM Hardener II Armor EM Hardener II Amarr Navy Armor Thermic Hardener Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II
Sensor Booster II, Scan Resolution Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II 100MN Afterburner II
Mega Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L
Energy Locus Coordinator I Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I
Hammerhead II x5
Seconding the "train for t2 guns ASAP", they make t2 megapulse usable on missions (Scorch L, goooooo) - without them you have to use microwave or some such nonsense, which means that beams will deal more damage at range.
IMHO for amarr missioning BS: t1 guns --> Beams t2 guns --> Pulse |

Well, one thing u mentioned is to avoid angels and guristas. guristas i dont see at all, but i get stuck with angels 90% of the time, as my corp is in minmatar space... makes things hard from a damage perspective.

Ouch. I'd train up for a different ship tbh |

I'm in a similar boat as you. I have Amarr BS V, but not T2 guns. Here's my setup, which I can solo everything except Vengeance (can't put out enough DPS to get the 2.5M BS).
Highs: 8x Named Tachyon Beams
Mids: 3x Cap recharger II 1x Tracking Computer with tracking script
Lows: RCU II 2x HS II LAR II 3x rat-specific resists
If you don't think you get big resist-changes with rat-specific hardeners, you're not looking right. 2x will get you somewhere around 75%-80%. 3x EANM II will get all your resists to about 60% or so. When you're fighting something that's doing 500 kinetic DPS, it really makes a difference.

I run a Pulse fit with 2 LAR and no Heat sinks. I just basically take the damage...
8x Mega Pulse II's (cap use 15 per w/ MF every 5.6 sec) 21 cap per sec 100mn AB, 3 cap recharger II's 2x LAR II, 1x DC II, 2x Explosive II, 1x Kinetic II and 1x ENAM II (use to use a CPR II before my cap skills maxed out)
7x Valk II's
1x Aux Nano Pump (rep amount Rig) 2x CCC's |

tried that when i couldnt get in pulse range on a mordus mammoth.... to over 10mins to kill the bastard with the tachs, needless to say the dmg is pitiful, though the range is insane.

What range are they at?
I use navy multi with optimal range script and get range of 42km with only bs lvl 3 navy xray gives 65km range i have had no problems taking down any ship in it but some do take longer than others when they have uber resists
