BTW we don't drink larger warm - we drink Bitter (or heavy or ale or other variations) which is designed to be drunk at room temperature.
anyway - cheers to you too!

Top Gear is a perfect programme to watch with a beer, good stuff
As a rough rule of thumb, if it has bubbles, it's to be drunk cold. Have a look here, these beers are probably more suitable to be drunk warm.

Edited by: annoing on 02/09/2008 18:16:49 The Brits mostly drink 2 versions of 'beer' (not including drinks such as spirits, wines, Guiness etc).
Theres Lager (carbonated and served cold, same as Euro/Aussie/American beers) and Ale (Bitters, Stouts, Browns, Pales etc).
Ales are supposed to be served at room temperature or just slightly chilled depending on the Bitter variety. If you went into the cellars of a good pub, the Lager/Bitter cellar will be a chilled room, the Ale cellar will not be. Bottled Browns should (in my opinion) always be served from the fridge but the older generation prefer it off the shelves at room temps. Bottled Stout should be served at room temp while Milk Stouts (like Guiness) should be served cold. In case you're wondering, its called Milk Stout because the 'head' should be a white colour, ordinary Stouts have a brown 'head'.
And as for Top Gear .... fuk me yes, one of the best programmes around atm. Irreverant in all the right places, not politically correct, not afraid to offend and always a good laugh. Its just a 'lads' programme that happens to be for everyone. I know my 3 kids love it and my youngest is just 4. As James May would say .... c o c k

I caught bits of that one. I like how they went off about guns for a good 5 minutes then made their cars as insulting as possible and drove through one of the most outback hillbilly states in the country.

Most Europeans are too lazy to put the beer in the fridge to warm it up. But seriously, more people should have some type of spacer in their sigs to show it's not part of the post.

Top Gear... isnt that British? The US and the UK are basically lovers forever, so no surprises there. :) I cant remember when was the last time the UK disagreed with anything the US did.
Try liking... France. I dare you.

Yeah it's mainly the Brits that drink warm beer, although it's not lager, it's ale. ie, proper beer
And Top Gear = FTW!!!

The UK remains to date the only nation on Earth to ever land its military on US soil, burn the port city (Baltimore) to the ground, then roll into DC and thoroughly wreck the joint.
The only real payback the US ever got from that attack was eventually marrying off Madonna to a Brit and sending her to live there. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.
