at least like this, it's better than if they allowed everyone to connect and then take the server down again an hour later.. then we would get tons of threads whining about- "OMG! i just changed to a short skill and TQ is down again!!" ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |

actually, the op contains incorrect maths
A snail riding a tortoise, assuming they are going in the same direction, will go at snail_speed+tortoise_speed.
From Wikipedia:
Speed of a common snail = 0.001 ms^-1 Speed of tortoise = 0.21 to 0.48 km per hour = ~0.075 ms^-1
Therefore, 0.001 + 0.075 = 0.076 ms^-1
Please correct the OP in the interest of scientific accuracy.

Next you can choose either the linear velocity or rotational velocity of Earth - the planet the turtle is riding.

(0.075)^-1 ~= 13.333 m/s!!! I call hax!! No hamster is allowed to go that fast! accidents will happen!

My thoughts exactly.
It really says something about you when you can't even create an image macro that doesn't contradict itself. -

Your calculation assumes the turtle shield is flat, it isn't! Not to mention that P(either of those speed monsters is on steroids) > 0, which would seriously affect their speeds. WTS Boosters.

NO no no no, the plant rides the turtle. Srsly. Four elephants too, the fifth one missed :(
Next you can choose either the linear velocity or rotational velocity of Earth - the planet the turtle is riding.

In fact you are correct. I simply assumed the tortoise shell was flat to aid calculation speed. If we take into account the curvature of the shell, the snail will be going at an average of snail_speed/root(2). Again this makes the assumption that the shell is a hemisphere, which it isn't, but I am lacking figures for the average curvature of a tortoise shell.
This would make the total average speed: 0.00071 + 0.075 = 0.07571 ms^-1.
As for your other point, unless you can provide probabilities for steroid abuse among Reptiles or Molluscs I am unable to help. No results found for "probability of a snail being on steroids". No results found for "probability of a tortoise being on steroids".

Also, the planet is on the turtle, not the other way around.
