Just logged in for the first time since the patch and discovered when I undocked that my Default tab was gone, yet all my custom tabs remained. I'd previously made tabs and bracket settings for: War (all unfriendly targets), War Large (battleships and caps), War Medium (BCs, HACs, Recons), War Small (ceptors, frigs, dessies) and War Drones (nothing but drones).
Now these are all present and seem to be fine, but my original Default Tab is missing and every attempt I make to Add Tab yields nothing. Anyone else having this?

I rather like it gone, really. Totally fine to have default bracket and overview settings instead.

Never used the default tab for anything really as it didn't hold a customized setting. Now I have a utility tab added where I can switch around to whatever temporary stuff I need.
I don't miss the default tab.

Like winterblink, I approve of this change, default tab was useless anyway.

Will this freaked me out.... so i deleted all my custom tabs.... logged off then back on and default took up a custom tab slot.
Also just read that tidbit of info in the patch notes.

It's better this way. Now there's no default tab and you can have one more custom tab.

Where is this mysterious extra tab some of you seem to have? I had 5 custom tabs before, I have 5 custom tabs now, even the patch notes only mention 5 tabs. The only thing that's changed is I'm missing 1 tab. Sure the default tab wasn't useful for much, but mine always seemed to show wreck brackets which made looting after a fight a little quicker.
So please bring back the default tab, or better yet, give us a another custom tab. (or another 5 custom tabs)
On a related note, any chance of sorting the settings by name? I'm talking about when you right click on the tabs themselves and select load. Also in the tabs tab in the overview settings dialog. Switching setting on the fly would be a whole lot easier if I didn't have to hunt for the setting I want.

I rather liked the Default tab.  I used it as an extra tab where I could have a temporary setting I only needed for a few minutes. You'd be surprised how often I used it. With it gone could we maybe get a 6th tab please CCP? There was really no need to nerf the number of overview tabs.

Oh nice, I was exploring overview tabs when writing my guide and found the default tab quite annoying. Selecting it didn't reload the default settings so it was a bit of a pointless tab, essentially just a way to use the current tab's settings but turn brackets back on. Removing it was logical, we can set up our own default overview tabs.

This is a good change, imo. I would love to see the option to add more tabs, though. 5 is just too low for all-rounder setups. But that's for another forum.

Yeah, this is why it's always wise to read the patch notes BEFORE you log in and start deleting / changing stuff.

Yes, I agree that removing the Default tab is fine, but now I have to gyp myself out of one of my customized pvp tabs to set one up for my 'Standard' overview settings. Not cool.

Exactly this. Adding new options is always a good thing, removing options isn't. Players use their UI the way they prefer, removing an option doesn't affect those that don't use it. But it is a major strike against that do. It makes no sense at all removing it to be honest.
Another stupid unecessary change for no reason at all. Le sigh.
Edit; Just like that guy described, it was great for 'special' settings. I have 3-4 different combat custom settings, while I use the 5th to rotate between alot of things. Special combat settings like drone warfare. Different NPC settings (show wrecks or not, for example). Etc. Messing with a tab to do this is alot worse than just using the default.

CCP removed the Default tab and traded it for the hundreds of (useless) Agent pics in your Standings tab instead. Oh wait! you also get to view other people's Agent pics as well when you look up their standings.
Yes .. my EVE cache will be very happy to see the faces of soo many Agents. I wonder how my bandwith will hold? Does it make my market price updates slower or unresponsive right after clicking on the Standings tab? Probably .. sigh.

I noticed this as well, and I actually used the default tab for a "default" type of view that I used when travelling around (not in PvE, PvP or other specific modes). It let me see the brackets I required, and also the stuff in my overview that I wanted.
The problem was that it wasn't always *saving* the current overview settings you applied to the default tab (yes, you could change the default view - I say this because it sounds like many of you didn't) - so instead of fix that (or did they?), it seems like they just removed the default tab if you use custom tabs.
As others have stated, we're now down to just 5 tabs which sucks. I actually used all 6, and I wish I had even more (10 would be nice).
I've got a thread about it here. Hopefully the devs pick up on this and give us a nice fix soon.

I'm liking this more after some reflection. Although I would have preferred we be given an extra tab (or more?) to make up for the loss of the default, I noticed something that seems to be changed:
I seem to recall that if you right-clicked and changed the overview settings on the default tab, then switched to a custom tab, when you went back to the default it would be back on the original factory overview settings. Now, post-patch, if you are on any given tab and right-click to change the overview settings of that tab, you can click away from it and then return to it again to find those switched overview settings to still be in place.

Well its a stupid change using the default tab was the only way to make everything on the screen show boxes and now its gone? so we have to setup a stupid ass custom tab for everything now?

Saving all of your overview and bracket settings will prevent this in the future.

If you right click on the little white arrow next to where it says overview it brings up your options, select Load Defualt and then select Standard. You now have the standard default settings for your over view. To change back, reverse.

That was/is actually a bug. For the most part mine would save (I had a custom default overview/bracket setting with extra custom tabs) the settings I used for the default tab and all other tabs. I could switch between them all and everything was fine.
There was the occasion though where for unknown random reasons, the default tab would pick up the settings from another tab, and changing the default tab in that session woudl always be reset back if you swapped tabs. When they announced the tab fixes, I was hoping that they would fix this issue, not just nuke the default tab entirely and reduce our tabs from 6 to 5.

While the removal of default tab is fine; my custom tabs don't seem to understand what's going on. Stuff that isn't supposed to be bracketed (in space) in one tab suddenly show up, while stuff that is supposed to show doesn't show. Switching from tab to tab just switches it around, or just does something random.
Seems it's borked a bit.

thats a shame, in a way it was always very nice to have a tab you could just **** around with ;)

I take this back.
Whenever I want to change the overview setting temporarily using the button in the top-left corner, it changes the setting of a tab permanently. Now there are two ways to change a tab permanently and no way to change it temporarily.
Way to go CCP!
Will they ever do something right without doing something else wrong that spoils it again?
