I have just been seeing some tasty looking macks and wanted to know what I would need to take one out. Prior to the concord boost that is . (in 0.5 security space)

Lack of a soul.
Don't suicide gankers just fit for epic DPS? You can't tank CONCORD and a Mackinaw wouldn't put up that much of a fight anyway, would it? :|
I don't personally know, this is just speculation on my part. |

I can't imagine you needing more than 11 purely T1 fit geddons to instapop even the most tanked Macks.

I was hoping to accomplish the task without the use of a small fleet

Here is the simple forumla to "the gankz"
1) Determine the target (already done, a Mackinaw) 2) Divine the target's tanking strategy (in the case of a Mack it's going to have rat specific hardners for the region at best, use a damage type the mack isn't built to absorb) 3) Calculate the ships probable EHP in a worst case scenario against their presumed weakest resist 4) Find a ship or group of ships that can exceed this number by say 30% in 15 seconds.
Step 2 can be skipped if you just go and scan the guy.
As a simple matter of course a mack will be VERY sturdy against the rats in the region. Tanking kin/therm the Mack will probably manage to shrug off the firepower of a Thorax for the alloted time for example. T1 cruisers are your best bet in general simply due to the ease of their replacement, though you may need up to 3 cruisers to ensure the job is completed.
When it comes to fitting your ship, the "glass cannon" approach is best here. The Mack can't mount much of an active defense (i.e. it doesn't have much to shoot back at you other than maybe some drones). Your entire strategy should be designed to maximize your short term annihilative potential with a window of no more than 20 seconds (after agression). T1 guns and gear are the best bet - low slots are jam packed with damage mods. And bring just enough faction ammo to fire for say 25 seconds on all your guns. If done right in a cruiser the suicide gank can be almost free in many cases.

i wouldnt try anything less than a full out gankageddon or 2. huge dps, and insurance makes loss value low.

A BC with complete gank fit would likely work. Unlikely to be any tank in high sec.
