Long time Amarr pilot, newbie to Minmatar here. I've started running L3 missions for the Republic and figured I ought to train Minmatar ships because my lasers are terrible against Angels. I'm now in a Hurricane and struggling to figure out how to use it in missions. I love the autocannons, hate the artillery, but of course the range is a problem. What's more, I can't quite figure out how to tank it against Angels' omni-damage. Can anybody suggest a Hurricane mission-fitting and give advice about how to use it?
PS: No T2 guns; everything else can be T2

First of all, you have not listed what skills you actually have when it comes to artillery and such so i will post two setups. One T1 and the second one is my "grinding standings fast" gank-T2 setup.
Secondly, Angels do not do "omni-damage". They do explosive and kinetic damage for the most part. The other two damage types do occur but at such a low rate that there is seldom any meaning tanking for them.
Third, www.eve-survival.com is your friend.

Adjust to T1 where you can't fit T2. Should give you enough tank for L3 missions, never had any problem with it. Use the AB to stay at range, drones will mop up everything small. Don't be too afraid of the Angel omni damage, your armor tank is perfectly fine with exp/kin hardeners in most angel missions. There might be some mission (like if you want to kill Recon 1/3 instead of blitz) where you need more tank, just replace a gyro with another (appropriate) hardener then.

have to agree with Rajere. if youre a well trained amarr, use sac. works even for l4 with dual rep while you build your standings and train to t2 projectile turrets. cheers!

That. It's way way better for tanking (and doing missions) then a Hurricane which has a massively worse tank (and is not very sustainable on top), and ACs which are admittedly somewhat (given you'll be tank fitting, difference is not huge) higher DPS, but only work close-range while HAMs are solid up to 20km.

This tbh. Sacri makes an excellent mission runner and can do lvl 4's quite easy due to its low sig radius and AB speed. imo what you need to do is stop reading my sig ___________

Shield tank it (active or passive, both works out about the same) and toss 3 gyros and 3 TE's in lows.
Angels do explosive/kinetic and some of the elite ships and ssentries do a fair deal of thermal, so it's generally a lot easier to shield tank missions from minmatar agents.
Something like (tight fit!) High: 6x 720mm 'scout' Mid: 1x Large shield booster or extender 2x Hardeners 1x AB Lows 3x TE 3x Gyro's (or 2-3 of each and 1-2 cap/shield mods)
Rigs: CCC or purgers, depending on what tank you for.

Ever tried to kill spider drones? =) Well, the webber was more or less, "Can come in handy" since my craptastic droneskills did not allow me to kill the damn interceptors fast enough for my liking, Webbed, bang. Done.
