Hey,
New to the forums, been playing EVE for a while, and ever since I patched to 1.1 I haven't been able to log in,
All it does is bring up the EVE pre splash screen picture and then that disappears and nothing happens, but the program is still running. Anyone else having similar issues?

This topic covers the same issue (if a few others too). As i cover in detail in my post, i found the patch had somehow broken the shortcut. Remake your shortcut or just go into properties to fix it, make sure both the main link and "open in" link point to the right places.

I had the same problem I kept clicking it so I gave up
As I was on aim talking to a buddy of mine about 20 of the EVE clients popped up For me it was just a temporary bug
Now after the 1.1 patch, I cant even play, let alone login
It says the server status of Tranquility is "Unknown", thus not allowing me to login...
Its been like this for 2 days
Rebooting, Reinstalling and Connection resetting isnt doing anything...
Very frustrating...

Nothing is working, still can't log in, same problem.
shortcut properties target: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe"
start in: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE"
is this correct?

Ok, I think I've got it fixed. It appears to have something to do with running the client in windowed mode.
Step 1. Go to the program files/EVE directory and run this shortcut: eve.exe (Safe Mode).lnk Alternately, you can run (EVE.exe /safemode) This should bring up the login screen centered on your desktop.
Step2. Hit ESC and select Desplay & Graphics tab and changed to full screen mode and 'close window'
Step3. Close the client (you don't need to log in)
Step4. Run your client normally from your desktop icon or wherever and it should bring up the client full screen.
Step5. Hit ESC and change the Display & Graphics settings back to 'windowed mode' and this appears to fix the problem.
I verify that it solved my problem by by closing the client and running it several more times from my desktop icon.
It appears that for some reason, when in windowed mode, the client is tossing the window somewhere off the desktop but keeps it active. I verified this by clicking on the taskbar icon when I couldn't see the login screen and hitting the enter key. I got the 'blink' sound you get when you click the 'connect' button.
Hope this helps, it appears to have straightened mine out. EVETycoon Marketing, trading and reprocessing tool. |

Either your memory or your harddisk is corrupt, try running checkdisk to check for drive errors and maybe memtest if that doesn't fix it. _

The stars! They are hurting my eyes!
Also, CCP didn't **** up, as for now it's just you two, the other 300.000 orso subscribers are running EVE fine.
Anyway, have you tried installing the newest directx? Newest graphic drivers / other drivers? Have you tried launcing EVE in safemode? Have you tried clearing out your settings and your cache? _

I have been having a very similar problems to the above guys. Sometimes I can load eve (in the afternoons) but after work (the bulk of my time on eve) I either get disconnected after 20 mins and then unsble to login or I just can't log in at all. I get the splash screen put my pw and get the ubequitous "unable to connect to the selected server. Please check the address and try again" I have tried most things that people have suggested in this and other friends with no luck at all. TBH I don't complain much or write on the forums (so it has to be pretty bad to say anything) but this is beginning to really irritate.
If anyone has any suggestions (ASUS laptop bought to play eve on with T-mobile broadband) it would be appreciated. The computer seems sound and the connection is perfect opn other internet games.

How do I clear out my cache?
Divers and directx are up to date.
How do I launch even in safe mode?
I would say it's their fault... I could play perfectly fine before their patch.
