I was going to play EVE this evening but instead I get to reconfigure my client almost from scratch. It's happened before after patch so I should have known it was coming. Reconfiguring will take quite a long time since I have more than one character and more than one account. Also many others in my corp and I'm sure all around EVE are also experiencing this additional required downtime. Very briefly let me explain what I must do tonight.
1) Check each of the tabs after hitting ESC, reading each option under each tab to make sure the options I want are selected and the ones I don't want are not selected.
2) Reconfigure each of the 5 chat windows I always have open with timestamp and show text only. Relocate those chat windows that should not be stacked with the others.
3) Pin windows that need to be pinned after repositioning them to where they were before the client crashed. Check "Lock windows when pinned" because I forgot to do so in #1.
4) For the Overview: Select and deselect settings for 12 different saved "Overview Settings" which were lost. This requires the review of the 9 Overview Settings tabs. Here we find 300 selections that need to be checked, unchecked and/or reordered. About 200 of those settings must be checked or unchecked for each of the 12 saved profiles. Recreate the 5 missing overview tabs. Recreate the 4 or 5 lost overview settings for brackets. Set each tab with the appropriate overview and bracket settings for standard operation.
5) Individually reconfigure all of my station containers found at various space stations throughout the EVE universe. For those that I forget to reconfigure before dropping in items requires me to unlock each item just added to the container. Unlocking takes a little under 1 second per item. If 1000 different items are dropped in the wait to unlock all of those items should not exceed a 10 minute wait. The wait is necessary because leaving the station stops the command to unlock all items in that container.
6) I probably forgot a few things but I think you get the idea. I hope CCP does.
Is there a way to save all client settings? I noticed CCP has files located under three directories on my computer. Which ones need to be backed up so when disaster strikes (which it will again I'm very sure) I have a chance to restore?

It's the user###.dat file(s) in "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings" where the ### is your character id.
If you're not sure which one in which location, sort the files by time and grab the latest one (since you just edited it).

Thanks Poast I'll give it a try.
7) Looks like my market window got hit too. The Quickbar is clear of all my 100 items and folders they were sorted into.
