Normally I am able to run the Eve premium client with no problems at a decent frame rate, even when there is quite a lot going on - the blob of people when the titan at Caldari prime appeared was no problem. The other day I flew cloaked to a POS which was under attack by a few dreads and nothing else, and while starting fine (50-60fps) over the space of about a minute or so the frame rate gradually dropped off to single figures.
This was a little odd, because doing the same thing when there were several carriers and about 100 fighters was nice and smooth. The PC is a Core 2 Duo with an ATI 3850 and 2Gb of RAM. It seems strange that only that one circumstance caused a slow down like that.
Anyone else had similar?

Interesting as I was having issues last night that sound the same.
I normally sit at 180+FPS constantly but last night I was dropping into the 20's and 30's without much going on.
Will have a play later on and report back...clear cache and what-not.

Have you seen any improvement/resolution on this issue? I was doing some scouting yesterday in the Black Rise area, when I noticed that my client seemed a little slow. I pulled up the frame rate counter and noticed it was below 10fps, accounting for the choppy feeling. I restarted my EVE client and pulled the counter up again, the frame rate had returned to 200fps+.
Undocked and went scouting for about 15 minutes, keeping an eye on the average frame rate as it slowly but surely dropped back down to 10fps and below. I closed the client again, and started it up again with the premium graphics disabled, and all of the effects turned off. Sadly the same thing happened again - 200fps+ in the station, down to 20fps after 10-15 minutes.
My computer is a Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 8GB of RAM and an 8800GTX - running the game windowed at 1280 x 1024, I really shouldn't have any problems even with the premium client, let alone the classic one. I'm glad to see that you have an ATI card yet experiences the same issue, as it rules out my graphics card and driver as the culprits.
