- Remove Jump Freighters or allow them in empire only or 0.0 only. - All loot in empire no longer reprocesses for low-sec or 0.0 minerals. - Nerf all low-sec/0.0 mineral compression.
I'm just brainstorming ways to bring back the risk vs reward to EVE.

1. people would just use rorquals and carriers again. not too much difference, really. 2. the price of low sec minerals would go even higher, the market would increase. the people mining in 0.0 would be happy, since they could make a profit again. 3. please express yourself better, i dont understand this suggestion. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

Mineral Compression is building modules in 0.0 for more effeciant shipping of the underlying minerals to highsec... IE Take 500m^3 of minerals and make a 50m^3 module, then you reprocess once you reach highsec... (10:1 ratio was just an example, not idea what the favored methods of compression actually return)
He wants that nerfed so you gain less or no advantage from it...
Unless maybe he is refering to ore compression... I don't know if people actually do that or not... ç¦ |

Edited by: Kalttur Eryv on 06/09/2008 02:17:33 Ah yes good point on the roq and carriers. The objective of the jump freighter change in conjunction with the other two changes was to drive the price of low-sec/0.0 minerals up and as a result drive the price of most modules up effectively reducing the value of hi-sec minerals relative to low-sec/0.0 minerals. This would be an attempt to give incentives to people to leave empire for low-sec and 0.0.
The people then wishing to make a huge profit on 0.0 ore and low-sec ore by bringing them to empire would need to travel through low-sec and wouldn't be able to jump capital ships right through low-sec. This way they would be faced with the risk of being targeted by an increasing pirate population in low-sec.
Edit - And yes that is the mineral compression I was talking about.

they alleardy do. a JF can jump OUT of high sec, but not INTO it. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

rorqs are totally restricted to low sec. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

Alright that's good to know, the only problem I can see then is people being able to jump from relative safety to a low-sec system that is 1 jump from empire. At which point it's just simple warp to 0 and then jump into empire and voila safety. The only actual risk in low-sec is jumping from a low/null-sec system into another low-sec system.

depends. if you are in a secure system, thats true. if this system thats 1 jump from empire space is not full ahve people who like you, its actually kinda risky. dont forget, you can warp to an cyno, whether its your or not. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

Err... did you just propose sweeping changes without even knowing how the two cornerstones of logistics work.
