Hey there all, I am doing lvl 4 missions atm in a Kronos. But after flying it and getting to think about stuff - i thought that I would replace it with a regular BS (the chance of loosing it is a factor).
But then it came to my mind - what BS should i choose instead? I fly Minma and Gall ships and hoped that it could be one of these races and not the Raven... But if you guys really mean that the raven is that uber - please let me know so that i can get start training :)
Thx in advance.

I would keep using the Kronos myself, but your best bet for a mission ship is the Dominix. It seriously kicks ass as a mission ship - especially with T2 Sentries. ------------

If u lose a t2 bs to a lv4 mission u shouldn't be doing them but if you fancy a t1 bs better using a mega with 2 cruise launchers and t2 hammers its the best all round i find, but alot of people prefer the domi

Edited by: Rip Minner on 06/09/2008 11:59:49 I can fly and do level 4 missions in both the Dominix and Raven.
They both do just as well only the Dominix is cheaper ammo wise t2 drones wtf.
Just remeaber with the Dominix you tank drones kill and its all gravy.
How ever I would have to go with the other two here saying you should never loss a tech 2 bs to missions. How ever I dont normaly do missions in my tech 2 bs ether. Reason being is I fell other bs do a better job. Nothing more nothing less.

The Dominix makes mission-running very easy - pull everything, launch drones, go make dinner, come back when it's finished. This is not, however, an efficient way to run missions - drones make some very strange decisions about what their next target should be. Moreoever, on the missions where there are trigger spawns, those spawns tend to target your drones and wipe them out, so not all missions can be run afk anyway.
The Megathron is faster, if you fit it well and know what you're doing while flying it. Particularly if you're used to running in a Kronos, a Megathron is basically the same ship, but only 7 guns instead of 4*2, and a less efficient tank.
The Raven is widely accepted to be the best mission-running ship, largely I think because of the choice of damage types with missiles. The Megathron and Dominix are more than capable of handling any L4 mission that gets thrown at you. ________________________________________________

If you actually sit at the keyboard and play the game, the Dominix is easily just as good as the Raven. My sentry Domi is almost as good as my other character's CNR (together they are a wonderful mission pair - but then again, so are my Navy Mega and my CNR). ------------

Thx for all the good answers. Will be looking into the MegaT and the Domi i guess. Would it be stupid to fit blasters on either the MegaT and a full tank fit in lows or should it be rails instead? I tend to hate the long range thingy - i know that it makes mission running faster due to the alpha strikes - but i would like to do something like the Machariel can - up in the face of the NPCs and pwn em. Any of the MegaT or the Domi that is better than the other to this task??

tbh i would go for rails for range and deadspace missions u can't use mwd but if u really want to use blasters go for domi as ur drones will do damage while u get into range and remember that heavy drones are not that good with frigs so if using the mega u will have to use med drones and mega only has room for 5 heavys i myself use a navy mega with rails and cruise and hammerheads 2's i also have a hyp which i use but i find the mega a better ship

I've often used the Megathron as a blaster platform in missions. It's not as quick as using rails, but it's hella fun. Web -> Target paint -> One-shot dead frigates. ________________________________________________

I use a blaster Domi for Angel missions, but for most missions I use a Navy Megathron or Sentry Dominix. ------------
