hello .. me and some friends just reached the standing requirements to start with lvl 5 missions with caldari navy. I have been reading things about this but wanted some opinions, so i can clarify my mind about the real chances we have. We are 3 people with nice ships and fittings for missions. we have been doing lvl 4 quality 15 missions without a problem between me and a friend .. and wanted to ask what we can find with lvl 5 quality 12 missions (is the agent we think we can try)
We have are a dominix, an eos and a raven issue for this, all fitted with tech2 - faction items with nice skills tree for missioning and gang. but well .. my real question is : do we really have a chance to be suceed on lvl 5 missions or should we continue with lvl 4 and wait for more people of the corp to reach our "lvl"? (we are not many people tbh)
the other thing is that we are not very good on electronic warfare and will we have problems in that way if we try to do it ?
thanks in advantage for your inputs

Gothart, well from what i do understand, and personally i am also looking to get some information about lvl 5 missions, you should consider having a logistics player with a support ship nearby to rep the tanker, wich would probably be the eos.
I think that with 4-5 very heavy ships and a logistics you guys can do it good =)
Logistics FTW =)) Best Regards, Fly Safe, GodSpeed or Happy Hunting, Neoptolomeus |

I know this isn't hugely helpfull, but I've heard l5 missions are designed for groups w/ capital ships. With that in mind, I'm not certain you'll do so well with only 3 BS'.

In most missions you will face numerous battleships that hit hard, and a lot of missions have heavy neut towers that drain your cap quickly, or citadel missile launchers. Soloing it is almost impossible without something like a deadspace/officer fitted nighthawk, and even then it's much quicker to run level 4s solo. Level 5s really are meant to be run with groups of people with logistic ships and/or carriers (many missions have gates though, so carriers are out). But seriously, more people should have some type of spacer in their sigs to show it's not part of the post.

Two ships will be difficult. I can run most level 5's with 2 BS and a guardian however you need to be somewhat careful.
I don't ever recommend bringing a carrier into a mission because they are giant targets for people like myself . That being said, I do use mine on occasion and replacing a guardian with a carrier makes them laughable.
I'd suggest you take 3-5 BS with remote cap and remote armor/shield transfers depending on what BS are brought. I personally use 2-5 BS with remote reps and a guardian with reps/cap transfer. Rat respawns will shoot anything so you will all need tanks and anything shooting a logistic ship needs to be killed first.
In the famous words of grux... They aren't that difficult. (every time I say a mission is easy I die to it...(i almost always bring a logistics ship too :P) so take that with a grain of salt) ---- VHI - We Haul Your Cargo For Free ---- We Miss you Red 7. |

On the topic of Level 5 missions, I have heard that it is possible to get a Level 5 mission in high sec space with a bit of luck. Which corp/agent does this work for? Anyone know? ------------

As for all being in lowsec not true ive done several missions in high sec cause i have to jump 5-6 jumps to run it.
As for what u need i would recommend atleast 3 players to doem fairly quick.
Standard setup is 1 logistic and 1 nighthawk (passive tanked) and a damage dealing BS.
And some missions allow carriers and they tend to be done really fast.
If u have any questions u can contact me ingame.

I've run a number of Lvl5 missions lately using a T1 rigged, T2 fitted passive tank Drake to gain agro and then a Dominix with 6x meta4 large shield transporters to support it. Usually I only need 2-3 of the shield transporters to keep the Drake alive. Of course, if you can bring more BSes, the mission goes a lot faster.
As for Lvl5 missions in highsec, it is possible. Pick an agent that is near highsec(eg: the MoW agent in Vehan, etc) and then turn down missions every four hours until they give you one in highsec. Alternatively, you can use some of the Lvl5 agents in less traveled areas of lowsec without any real trouble. I use the MoW agent in Ned regularly and have only had two people attempt to scan my mission down. Each time, leaving an alt in a cloaked ship at the entry point gave plenty of warning. If you go this route, I would recommend leaving the fancy faction fitted ships behind. My setup is cheap enough that if I run one mission successfully, it has paid for itself so *when* I lose the ships, it won't be a large loss.

Yes, there are a few Missions that have No nuet towers, no scramblers, so you will be able to complete them with your fleet, HOWEVER, Many PK's make their living off camping Lvl 5 areas specificly looking for fleets such as yours fitted with Faction gear. Your Loot is greater than a lvl 5 missions Loot
Quote: I know this isn't hugely helpfull, but I've heard l5 missions are designed for groups w/ capital ships. With that in mind, I'm not certain you'll do so well with only 3 BS'.
Not all lvl 5 missions have Acceleration gates, and you can get your capitals in for abit of fun, HOWEVER, the majority of lvl5s have Acceleration gates, and you will not be getting capitals into those
Quote: All level 5 missions are in lowsec, because all the agents are at least 2 jumps into lowsec.
All level 5 AGENTS are in low sec, Just like their empire cousins tho, they will sometimes send you to a system many jumps away, and you can occasionly get the mission spawned in a 0.5 system etc nearby.
Quote: Two ships will be difficult. I can run most level 5's with 2 BS and a guardian however you need to be somewhat careful.
This is the winna. It is the Minumum Setup i recommend for Pilots to fly a lvl 5 safely.
☼ 1x BS 'Brick' Hi rsistances, High hitpionts, soak that damage for the first minute of each pocket while you get as much agro as possible. ☼ 1x BS DPS setup, thats right, 20 bs take a while to kill, If you want to fly a toy drake and have 3 hours spare for each mission go ahead. If you want to finish them in any time reasonable, bring a real damage dealer ☼ 1x Logisitics, the key to any successfull Lvl 5 you will need a pilot with Remote Shield/armor boost ASWELL as a cap transfer. Nuet towers arent the only thing that drains cap, thre are many BS and Even cruisers that do it to.
I hope this helps clear up some of your questions Gothart, but your deffeintly on the right track by asking questions, research research research, find lvl 5 Guides, and Develope your own guides (screenshots etc) as you slowly progress, and youll beable to get the most out of your ADV PVE experience.
Fly Safe,
Joe.
