Ships should have to work on a universal fuel found at any station. Say like Nuclear Fuel rods or something like that would run the ship for a certain amount of time. It only makes sense that the ship would need some sort of fuel like a POS or outpost.

not to mention the pain of living away from stations it is hard enough to keep ships supplied with ammo and cap boosters with out having to worry about fuel

I think its a great idea, make the fuel cost 10k isk a unit and 1 unit runs the ships reactor forever. then just to stream line the whole thing, we could have it already loaded in the ship, and include that in the current ship prices. great idea, thanks, lets just pretend we added fuel and dont.

Nuclear ships need refueling every 20-25 years. The only reason a sub ever docks is to take on weapons or food.
Would you like to run out of fuel in the middle of low sec or 0.0?

Forever is too overpowered. Better time would be until 1 second before the ship explodes, since forever is imbalanced.

forever is realistic. the caldari and gallente ships run on the ram scoop idea (scooping interstellar gases into a fusion reactor, a valid IRL spaceship design, all we need to do is invent the fusion reactor), minmatar use fission reactors mroe advanced then our own, its perfectly feasible that one could run for 50, or even 100 years. amarr use antimatter reactors, and if you can run a ship on nuclear power, it seems to me that a few atoms of antimatter every hour or so would be sufficient to run a ship, so its hardly likely to need refueling any time soon if its got 100kg of antimatter on board. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |
