Forge Lag

What title says. Caldari already have it. The lag in Dodi becomes crippling. Given it is both market and missioning hub it is ripe for dedicated reinforced server.

While it is refreshing that somone is *****ing system not Jita this is not possible.
Tranquility is a server cluster. Each system runs on several servers and adding a second node would cause the system to become instanced which is not what we want. -So says Xindi Kraid

I think it was rather obvious what he meant so either you have no idea how the system works or your being willfully ignorant.

It seems that someone has not only ignored the forums for years, but even the devblogs and announcements detailing the addition and maintenance of the nodes and overarching server. Have you not heard of a node crash before? Ya know, those little things large 0.0 alliances do when they warp 600+ man blobs into each other? Magically, the entirety of Eve doesn't crash with the localized cluster of systems. May that be because its on its own node?
The way the server cluster works is that it is composed of many subsystems, aka nodes. Each node handles several systems, hopefully distributed such to minimize lag. Since Jita became a ridiculous database strumpet, it got its own node in the cluster, not shared by any other system. Dodixie, Auvergne, and Aunia are adjacent and all on the same node IIRC (and at the very least see a lot of traffic). Dodixie is a market hub and has the most popular hisec L4 agent for FedNavy, Auvergne has the best L4 hisec in FedIntel (q18), and Aunia has a wide range of agents including a starter L4. Now, couple all those l4 missions being sent to each other and the market transactions and you begin to see why people want their own NODE for the area. ---- WTB Armor Nerf Hardener II, 10^100 isk OBO |

If it gets too bad, people will just not go there. The system is self-correcting. Next topic plz.

Like they don't go to Jita or they don't do mission in Motsu?

lots of people (including me) refuse point blank to go into jita. the jita issue is slowly correcting itself. the issue is, we arnt prepared to wait for it to correct itself.
i don't use dodixie, so i wouldn't know about its lag, but i have no problem against whacking it and its other three systems on their own node, if others feel its necessary. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

I went into dodixie for the first time today....it was so laggy that I dropped trying to get out.
It really should be fixed, because that is where the agent I want to do missions with is. I am sure I am not alone.

No, it doesn't.
Lag in EVE is a design problem, not a hardware problem - you've got agent grinders blobbing the 'best spot' because they all want their slice of the infinite resource that is the L4 mission.
No matter how much hardware the problem gets, it will NEVER scale to the point that would make this possible.
The solution is to make blobbing hubs less desirable - and why dynamic agent quality is the way forward. Let's have agents that adjust pay for being more or less popular. That way _none_ of the mission hubs are the 'best spot' any more, and the mission runner population distributes - no more lag for anyone. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? |

It wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't around only four lvl 4 command agents in the Federation Navy that exist. The one located in Dodixie is one of the few thats in high sec space and also has the best quality level. This is ridiculous since if you look into Caldari Navy corps info tabs, under agents, you will find a plethera of lvl 4 agents with the majority in high sec space and not only that, they have better quality levels as well. And why is Caldari LP store so vastly better equiped then Gallente. They have hybrid ammo and all the missles. What do we get, just ammo that no one really buys over the caldari kind
What gives?

you should check out minmatar corps. about 80% of all minmatar agents are in low sec, so the good high sec ones are horribly, terribly *****d by the whole minmatar population. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |
