Why is this so hard? We can buy faction ships on the market... what is so hard about allowing players to sell faction modules on the regular in-game market? I would say this is one of the "littlest things" that would have a hugely positive economic and game-play impact.
Does anyone know why we don't have faction mods on the market? Can CCP shed some light on this?
Thanks.

It's coming as part of the wardec revamp. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

That is great but I would enjoy not having to wade through the 20 different kinds of 50mm and 100mm plates to get my 1600mm. That and all the Resistance Plates all crammed together. Some categorization there would be nice. |

Yeah, as part of the improvements to killmails and war battle reports, they want to attach an isk value to each loss. They suggested that this meant all the modules on the market.

Actually a good point, believe it's going to change however.
Cynically maybe it was viewed that contracts needed something in them to make the system worthwhile?
Sure it will still get to be used with BP's, and lots of other redular items for whatever needed purposes, but logically it could be perceived as beneficial to have faction and officer mods sold in escrow. Bounty Hunting for CSM7

One would guess that they're do with it the way they do with ammo and ships: categorise as advanced, faction, and standard.

I rather got the impression that it was the other way around: they wanted all modules on the market (for a number of reasons), and as a bonus, they could do war and battle reports with ISK losses.

They probably figured that, by now, contracts are being so widely used for various purposes, and bulk data updating is so much simpler, that there is no longer any reason to keep certain items from the market. Contracts still allow for far more specific trades (item packages) and trading in singleton objects (blueprints, damaged items, assembled and rigged ships etc.); new and unique items don't require massive patches to make them part of the market list; and the market UI has been updated to support all the different categories you'd want to stick the different variants in.

Contracts do have one upside. If your looking for something uncommon it is far easier to do a universe wide contract search, than to fly out to every hub to check if there are even any on the market. |

I already use Eve Central, I've gotten some great deals in the past with it.
But since it is player supported its not always up to date. I update it when I can, but I don't have a character in every hub. It would be great if CCP could set up something where we could update markets via API.
With a Contract I don't have to wonder, I know its the most up to date information available. |

But don't you find it annoying that for the most part, contracts have to be made in Jita if they are going to float in price with the market? Wouldn't it be a better solution, in your view, to add an EvE-wide price filter to the market rather than keep dealing with contracts? I just think the economy is more efficient when the market runs things... adding anything to the market will cause prices to adjust to a more natural level. (Right now a lot of faction mods are actually really cheap on contracts... cheaper than they should be in my view.)

I didn't sit in on any of the 3rd-party dev sessions, but that sounds like exactly the kind of thing the new CREST API would allow for, and what they'll use for Dust and its companion app.
They might not yet allow for full control from 3rd party software, but it seemed like getting the data out would be well within the realm of possibility, and that would go a long way.

This should also include all ships. Titans were singled out in the discussion.
I may have come here from Myst Online, but that does not make me any less bloodthirsty than the average Eve player.
Just more subtle.

If your talking about a complete market/contract revamp, yes, that would be great if they could combine them into one functional piece. But most of the action would still be in Jita, because too many players want a central market. I personally try to avoid the place. Super thin margins, and one of the unsafest systems all rolled into one. |

I just think all in-game items should at least be listed on the market, or at least be able to be listed on the market. I mean, I can buy all the drugs in EvE and a test bong in Jita, why not a Shadow Web?

I'm betting this drop down will be the same as we see now. Where you have standard cruiser, tech 2 cruiser, and faction cruiser, we'll more than likely have standard armor plates and faction armor plates. Do you smell what the Lock's cooking? |
