They are everywhere....and I'm sure this isn't the only ice field they are in. This crap needs to stop....does CCP even care about this issue?

Yes we do, however posting on the forums does not let us do anything.

Macro miners have kept ice prices depressed for as long as I've been playing this game.
Dark Glitter (a 0.0 ice that refines into lots of stront) is the only ice that's worth more than highsec ores, and even then it pales it comparison to ABC ores, or even Gneiss / Spod.
Though if macroers were somehow removed (which I would fully support) it would have pretty major knock-on effects as it would cost a lot more (several times more) to operate POS's if the majority of the ice was being mined by real people - which would mean more expensive T2 items since they require moon minerals (which are mined out of POS's) and invention (which is normally carried out at a highsec POS), and even plain T1 ships since the BPOs are also usually researched in a POS.
Also jump-capable ships would become more expensive to operate, which might be good though, since all those drone alloys coming out of the drone regions would go up in price and maybe make lowsec ores worth something again. ---

Proof or...
But seriously, how difficult would it be for a GM (or other designated CCP personnel) to pop a Polaris into the infested systems, view the offending characters, do a check of their (23/7) account activity and login IPs (from Certain Countries), and select "Ban ---> All" from the game management menu?
[this is a rhetorical question]

How do you know they didn't pop in a Polaris to check for macro like behavior? GM invisibility is a tad more effective than CovOps cloaking :p
But yeah, it would be nice to actually see what is actively done against macroers in terms of tangible results. As long as you see lots and lots of hulks with random keystroke names mine rocks 23/7 without any interraction whatsoever, you might wonder if anything is being done.

Edited by: Jastvale on 16/09/2008 18:14:42 what gets me is the balls that some of these macro miners have. When I first started there was one particular miner that I knew was a macro miner. I watched him for a couple of days just going back and forth so I reported him. To CCP credit they did finally remove him but it took a day or two. I thought all would be well but then suddenly T****n VI along with his buddy T****n VII shows up and is doing the same thing. So I report them both and after a couple of day VI adn VII dissappear. Good for CCP, well now T****n VII and T****n VIII are now running rampant farming away. I see them every time I go back to that system to mine. I wish he was jet canning otherwise I would be a billionaire just stealing his can loot. But he goes to the nearest roid, fills his hold and then warps out.
Now on the funny side every once in a while his macro screws up and he warps leaving behind his mining drones. I think I have picked up 17 of them at this point. Wish they were mining II's!
Note: This is in a High security area so I can't pop him...but would I love to!!!
