Before I install Vista SP1 I want to make sure that no one is having problems playing Eve with this new Vista update.

What the hell? You still haven't installed SP1? FFs it's been out long enough. pre-SP1 Vista is horrible. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

I've been using Vista 64bit Ultimate SP1 for a long time now. No problems what so ever.
The only issue with Vista (and this has nothing to do with EvE) is you need to disable a buncha unnecessary things before it is awesome. Just search google for "optimize vista" or "vista tweaking" ---------------------------------------

Vista SP1 been working smooth as silk with EVE and everything else since it became available. You shouldn't have any problems with it.

EVE is working fine under Vista sp1p and x64 for me.
That does not mean I have a problemfree Vista experience though. The security measures it have, among a lot of things, are driving me crazy

Eve was actually the first program I got running under Vista with no issues. Unfortunately I have many other games I like to play as well and they didn't, so Vista sits lonely on another drive/partition.
Vista itself didn't even run as good as Eve did under it.

eve is pretty adaptable, it runs perfectly under wine, so i doubt v sp1 will pose a problem.

This.
I installed Vista on my new machine which has a decent spec, no problems at all.
I don't even have SP1 and I still have no issues.
Then again maybe it isn't down to system spec, I've never used another OS so perhaps those who have "dabbled" are being punished by the Microsoft Gods.

SP1 fixes a couple of memory leak issues that weren't patched by auto update (but could be fixed via KB downloads if you knew where to look).
Deffinitely an important update for all Vista users.
