Please bring back the higher bounties. You make NPC's 2 times harder and say you are increasing bounties as compensation, but then the next day the bounties are back down. Higher bounties = Good. -------

Probably realised it was a bit excessive... I made around 11 mil (rewards, bonuses and bounties) from DT yesterday to DT today doing kill missions so I guess it was seen as a bit of an easy ride.

Then put it back to a level where it reflects how much harder it is to complete kill missions. This patch just keeps getting better.

I'm still at work, so haven't seen this change yet.
If it's true, I'm very glad to see it. The bounties were at a silly level in Empire, and the difference in difficulty wasn't really enough to justify it. I did one "Cleansing System" mission this morning before work and made well over a million in bounties alone in about 40 minutes (gave up picking up the rat loot as well).
The people who complain about the bounties going back down have to realise that giving everyone 3 times as much money as they used to make for no extra effort would certainly have introduced an incredible amount of inflation in the game. While it's nice to have millions of isk, what's the point if tritanium rises to 10isk/unit?

Edited by: Imhotep Khem on 16/06/2004 14:12:32 I was happy to see the difficulty rise. I think it will extend the time newbies spend in those 'tweener ships. Since it will make it more profitable to climb slowly through the sec ratings, and not just jump from .7 to .4 all at once.
Since we all experience the same increase of difficulty, I think it is a good thing. And this will still cause inflation since ore is much harder to come by. But I like that the rat price is not insane as it appeared to be yesterday with numerous corp-mates bragging about their multi-million isk outtings
shame i missed the action...
I hope the next step is to nerf the un-named loot drops. I'm personally making a killing off selling th eloot. I'm selling so much loot i'm like a real manufacturer. Its the main source of my income. I hate to nerf myself, but its just not right to take away from the manufacturers as we do. And besides, my BPCs will increase in value when the drops are nerfed. I think the named-drops should remain as they are however. ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

Tbh Im not supprised..it was rather easy to kill the spawns..I only once had a prob and that was with a 2mil/1.25mil spawn with 2 cruisers.
Made a lot of isk..way more than I used to whilst chaining. And no more need to run from the BS`s/cruisers..just wreck the frigs and its all yours for the taking..warp in and out at your leasure. Ofc the rats warp out more often as well and they seem to get reinforcements sometimes.
All in all good thing they have dropped the bounties..or they could have made em harder to kill...which they arent..id even go as far as saying they`re easier to kill now..
Hitting your target seems borked now though..sometimes you cant hit anything and the rats sometimes arent able to hit you either...and thats closerange BS`s that didnt hit me..

The bounties were good yesterday, possibly a little high but they made eve more fun for me to play. I'm very dissapointed it only lasted for 1 day.
Please can they put the bounties halfway between the two levels and see how it goes?

Maybe you people are fighting different NPCs than we are. Gurristas BSes are now shield tanks, and are well worth their increased bounty. Granted frigates and cruisers were overpriced, but Gurrista BSes definitely weren't.

wish i'd stayed up all night lastnight npc farmining, made 2 mil for very little effort so i suppose thats something.. oh well it was good while it lasted made npc farming more lucrative than mining so i guess it needed fixing

I have mixed feelings about the bounties. On one hand I think it was a little stupid that I made 500k off one spawn in a Thorax in .2 space. But on the other hand I think it's good that fighting becomes the best source of income rather than mining. I think that's good for EVE all around as far as attracting new players and retaining them.

yes, and it makes the newer players want to risk thier butts and go hunt, thus giving them more training on combat which most really need badly. I dont know how many times ive seen a newer player go hardass with 3 rails loaded with iron charges vs a frig that is less than 5km away...at least to newer players, this would make the risk worth it.
I say halfway between the two as said before...

Whats so special about isk? Players will fight rats cause its fun.
Currently i make about the same from mining, rat hunting, and running missions. Its balanced. The hunting is better because all the loot brings me in so much more income. If they go to high payouts it will just make the game silly where everyone has loads of money. I can't see how it will be fun anymore.
Everyone will start hunting, and nobody will be running missions, or mining for isk. That will shoot the price of ore up, and the price of goods will follow.
its just inflation. i think they should keep it balanced with other paying activities. ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

This was a no brainer really it was on the cards immediately as soon as the patch came live.
I made 25mil in 5hrs.
The prob isn't so much with the higher bounties as such just their scaling, the high BS bouties are certainly warranted but 250k on a Crusier wasn't etc.
I'd say change the scaling or perhaps reduce all to 50% of the new values.

I agree that the cruisers and frig bounty was a bit high but the BS bounty was just fINE!! does ccp not want us to do team work and make money? i mean is it only for mining that you can get the isk from? I mean those BS were hitting for 130-200 and had wrecking shoots multi i had one BS hit me 5x for 336 and also spamed cruise missiles... their risky but worth it... dont know why they lowered it so much when you risk your BS to kill a few, if you do it well and dont die so you make money, is that a crime?
Btw talk about those frigs you can put as much tracking comps in low and midą and use M guns and still not hit them at allą I am really annoyed by the 1400Ęs projectiles as they seem to suck so much in this patchą the avg hits are FAR FAR too low in this patch then it was beforeą BTW why do other BS guns have an issue with missing and hitting other BS? I thought they should be pretty good shotsą guess its not true, funny that the NPC BS keep there constant pounding perfectly.

I agree with Hawk... These cruiser rats need higher bounties... but 250k might be pushing it... ................. |

I'll agree that the bounties were abit high yesterday, but now it's too little. while hunting npc cruisers I made 1.8 mil in bounties and went through 1.6k rounds of large hybrid ammo and about 100 heavy missiles.
The tracking changes make it where u can hardly hit anything and the bouties should reflect that. Npc hunting is my form of mining (because I hate mining). Now to make a descent profit for my time i'll have to mine again. Lack of preparation on your part does not constitute greifing on mine |

The really bad thing about the bounty drop (100% -> 500% -> 120%) was that the loot tables went down with the drops! (seem to me: 100% -> 100% -> 60%). After hunting yesterday we came to the conclusion that aside from some very limited amount of BShip ammo, the NPC BShips dropped loot that one could've expected from NPC CRUISERS before patches! Even an Arch Angel Seraphim dropped: named CPR, large shield extender, basic CPU, and inderect target acquisition. (or something to that very effect). Seraphims are the strongest "regular" NPC of the Angel Cartel you can find. After killing 5 Seraphims the best we got was a Clarity Ward Large. (and that was just about the only good thing we got, too)
Now that it's so damned hard to properly hunt these spawns (Cruisers in the hunt have a very rough time, and BShips have serious problems hitting NPC frigs and cruisers closer than 50km), it seem odd to me that the rewards have not increased with them. --
