Well, you cant use a DDD in low sec, true, the other titan features however still work, namely the fleet armor bonus and most importantly the jump bridge which is even mentioned in the news article kinda. Apart from that its never bad to have a giant epeen ;)

Not seeing a new report on that; not on EVE website, nor IGB news, nor via RSS feed.
Maybe I need glasses. You have a link?
You're not talking about the IGS launch announcement, maybe? _______

Also it's a treat for all the people in the militias who have never seen one blow up before.
Not overly impressed with the name, it's just a step above Steve. I guess you saw Monster Magnet was taken?
No hint as to who might be flying it or who built it?

It's taken from the book "The Star Fraction". In that context, it's very appropriate.

Using a Titan for FW is a gross mis-use of isk and resources. Oh well, at least you guys got mentioned in something --

If star faction uses this to grief on faction warfare players, it'll be interesting to see the results.

Logistics abilities aside, we all know that this thing is going to get infinipointed and toasted within weeks. I only hope that loldrama will result.

No DDD in Low Sec, so it's really just an oversized Dread with a jump bridge and corporate facilities. No real griefing potential tbh.

Well, not any more than they currently are doing, they just have bit epeen to do it with now.
I'm sure a creative bunch like SF can find an original way to use it. If nothing else, they are fabulously good at original mechanics. Yep, that was a compliment. I may not like SF much, but they have my respect in some areas. Tactics being one of them.

Oh I applaud SF for using a Titan with what appears to be almost a roleplaying motive. No doubt. This is a first, unless I'm mistaken.

Awesome... this way it is way more easy to conquer systems, if there is a big enough fleet, like let's say +100 cap + 'normal' FW Fleet as 'support', 2 fingers up the nose and conquer systems for FW.
Props for Gallente FW.

I don't see any reason why the Caldari and Gallente militias should be concerned that TSF has rolled out an e-peen. It's probably for their own strange RP reasons anyway . . .

Except we don't conquer systems. We're not in Faction Warfare. We're in Fraction Warfare. In Fraction Warfare, you get to shoot at pretty much everyone involved with Faction Warfare. S'fun. You should try it. _

Only thing is that SF isn't part of the Gallente militia - they attack all the militias.
So essentially its a neut with a titan and a titan in low sec is more or less a really, really expensive carrier replacement. It grants 7.5% armor hp bonus per level (someone above hinted it was an Erebus) to everyone in the fleet and can act like a command ship with skirmish bonuses.
On the plus side its been getting hard to impossible to form larger fleets than 20-30 so the effectiveness of death stars are a bit more pronounced in FW (I'm assuming they have it at a death star, or they have balls of steel). Still, I could see a large enough pirate corp/alliance do it for the KM. Its going to make a crazy addition to the killboard (if the guy ever pays the bill on it) alongside those 2 dreads and 3 carriers that FW blobs/Invicta have already taken out.
It never really seemed like SF had the numbers though to pull off a move like this. I bet it moves out in a few days.

Hmm do i smell the chance to finally get on a titan-killmail ? I bet they will hide it in a pos, and if i have a bad day i most likely will pay a mercenary alliance to erase that pos.
Hope there are some capital-ship heavy mercenary alliances, that do a good pos demolition job for a few billion isk like the old MC did.

Originally by: Faife first question: wait, really?
Mmmhmmm, we got a bit tired of all this 0.0 entities having all the really big ships and decided that a Titan could be the ultimate in freespace logistics support with jump portals and independent cloning facility and whatnot. We're an RP organization at heart and with the launch and deployment of this Ship we're now fully independent of nationalist infrastructure for the provision of cloning bays and headquarters and command and control. Basically it makes a lot more sense for the Star Fraction movement to be "based" from an mobile command platform than it did for us to be based out of stations and whatnot given the roleplay ideology of the movement. Something that always used to get hurled at us from nationalist RP'ers is that if the nations really got annoyed with us they could cancel clone contracts and end our "immortality" something thats not really an option now in an IC sense.
Quote: second question: ... why? is it any use in low sec?
The portal works in lowsec and its implications are pretty significant. Entire SF fleet can be instantly cyno'ed to a beacon anywhere in range to strike targets in theater. Makes scouting our movements considerably more difficult.
+When it is deployed to the front lines the leadership bonus is pretty tasty as well.
Anyways thats the answer. RP reasons, jump portal, reckless devil-may-care panache and lets face it - we've always been a bit of a perverse alliance, just because the rest of Eve feels that Titans are useless in lowsec and relegated to the serious business of blobwars behind cyno jammers - means nothing to anarchist revolutionary free captains. We'll use it, enjoy it, and doubtless lose it doing what we've done for the last five years in eve - having a damn good time and shooting tyrants in the face
All the best.
