I gave this idea some thought and I came to the conclusion of why?
Yes I get the idea of frontline ammo production, but unless its VERY FAST for LARGE quantity's its a bad idea in my opinion. even if your a roaming corp/alliance (take Church for instance) your better off anchoring a med sized tower as shelter and cyno spot and anchor 1 or 2 ammo assembly plants. Its cheap and doesn't require a player to sit in his industrial production ship

why not? an explanation of why it wouldn't be sensible would help provide some contrast in this thread.
Proposed advantages are not in line with ship cost in my opinion. Ofc there is option to make needed modules expencive, but that is also not too good option when modules for ship cost several times more than ship itself.
Now if some of those ideas would be implemented to upcoming 'Orca' platform, that is supposed to be something like hybrid between roqual and be between freighter and industrial in size then why not.
i must admit, i see little issue with making the module more expensive then the ship. after all, there are people who rig frigates, and bombs cost more then stealth bombers.
that said, i would advocate making the module better and making it orca and rorqual specific more then adding it to industrials. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

Originally by: procurement specialist start the reprocessing array at 0% + 5% per level. with max skills and implant you can get 99.39% refine in a 35% outpost so this would max at 89.39% still enough to be worth doing but if there is a better place you would use it by preference.
I'd say stick them with say a 25% base percentage, and then use skills, but use the POS style 75% cap. This would at least make them somewhat usable for people who DON'T have a years worth of refining skills.
Well if you start with refining V and train refine effic 4 and one of the lower ore processings to 4 you would be about 90% in a 35% station. so i wanted to drop that to 80% with with the ship skill at 4 too. i don't really care if it can get higher than a pos. the pos refining arrays are horrid.

I also like the Sisters of EVE personal Lab idea.
Industrials could be damn useful in this area as well. We could have a invention core, a copying core, a ME / PE core.
The Cores would consume fuel, and of course the pilot would have to be undocked and in the ship in order to do research.

you know, another thing one could do with this is to make them front-line ammunition specialists. base mineral reqs are 900% above normal (you can make other stuff with it, its superbly inefficient).
all ammo gets its mineral reqs as per normal, and a 500% bonus to manufacturing speed. in addition, it has a low efficiency reprocessing plant as well. so basically, while ratting in 0.0 or on a mission with a fleet, you can dump all the worthless t1 crap into this ship and turn it into bullets, probes, cap booster charges, whatever.
