I have lately been doing missions and I've noticed that a lot of BS that drop siege launchers also drop cruise missiles... This does not compute with me.

Heh, weird drops is a mainstay of MMO's. In another MMO I once played one time one enemy that was a male had all female clothing and equipment as its loot. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

I think it's funny when the squadron of Ammarian Navy battleships I just blew up drops civilian shield boosters, artillery, and cruise missiles.
No wonder they lost; they need to spend some time in the ships and modules section of the forum...

Edited by: Sexiest Beast on 19/09/2008 22:04:31 The loot is generally specific to the npc but randomly generated. . .
Serpentis drop hybrids Amarr drop lazors
etc
etc
CCP do try to balance the mod drops to be more relistic but sometimes it gets confuzed. There was a recent patch/hotfix to correct one of the NPC loot tables but I think it still needs tweeking. Serpentis dont drop projectiles but do drop berserkers :) However, this may be because drones arent racially specific unless TII
Originally by: patchnotes
NPCÆs Serpentis NPCÆs will no longer drop projectile weapons.

Caldari Navy Raven: Check out my l33t new named shield. Caldari Navy Moa: Hey cool, are you going to upgrade your tank with it? Caldari Navy Raven: Nah, I'll just stick it in the cargo hold as a treat for anyone that managed to blow me up.
Courtesy of some guy about five years ago, who snuck into various NPC chat channels and posted the logs. If anyone can find them ... they're a riot. ________________________________________________

Heeere i come to explaaain the daaaaaaay!!!
*runs in wearing a SJ logo cape and thong*
Ofcourse we are talking about rats. In essence, these are unlawful people. Pirates if you will. They steal stuff from other people, those nasty naughty pirates. This is what you find from the wreckages as the modules they generally use are destroyed by your respected firing. It's not rat belongings, or rat droppings as i like to call 'em, it's pirate loot!
Let me finish my explanation by saying; Only in MMOs do people get so exited about other peoples droppings.

Their still running off their supplies of siege launchers from 04/05. CCP never sent them the memo about cruises not being able to fit into sieges anymore.

Rational; reason:
Loot tables aren't rat AND size specific, just rat-specific.
So, all Serpentis for example share loot tables, whether or noth they're frigate-sized OR BS-sized. As proof I offer the numerous LiF-fueled BS-sized ABs that I got off of L2 mission rats - frigates and the occasional cruiser.
LOLLORE reason:
They're pirates, and hav eto fit/equip whatever they can scavenge off of their kills, not being able to afford their own faction gear for the most part.
Takes yer choice as to reason...:)

As you can see from the modules you loot, they weren't fitted on the ship, or they would be unpacked.
Ergo, they were in the cargo hold of the ship, not fitted on it.
They're loot, or they're transporting stuff for others; Yes, a battleship might as well carry a civilian mining laser if it happened to be heading near a remote mining outpost that needed one. Hard to reach places are supplied by military all over the real world, why not all over EVE world?

But that's because his shield booster isn't that special... it's his nine turret, six launcher, fifteen highslot Raven* that makes him tough.
*assumed from the model and behavior, the model shows (or at least used to show) eighteen turrets therefore nine turrets equipped, he is capable of firing four defenders at a time and his torp ROF suggested two siege launchers (rats not having received the memo that torps are short range, high ROF weapons). --

You used to be able to load cruise missiles into siege launchers once upon a time.
