it would be nice to be able to lower your shields an transfer the extra power to the engiens.
it would make your ship more flexible if you could lower your shields, since you usaly, dont need shields when flying in empire space. The extra speed could do wonders for a trader
raising your shields should take 5-20 sec depending on your skills.
give me your thoughts on the subject. sorry about any spelling errors

great idear im sure i saw a game that had this somewhere it might have been earth and beyond or the like either way you had to ballance shields wepons and engins. so if you left weps too short they ran down there own capacitor engins etc etc

I like it.
If it was 3 balance bars and the mid point was the same as it is now.
Then you could power down weapons and shields and upped engines then you get 100% boost in speed
If you power down just shields then you get a 50% boost in speed and weapons energy.
If you bring down the engines and shileds then you get 100% boost to weapon damage from weapons (energy for eneregy and hybride, no movment for balistic) And miners are twice as efffective.
The sliders would have to work like the speed setting currently, you set it and it takes a bit for it to move to the new setting, other wise you would have guys cranking the shiedls prior to a missle hitting, and then droping them to fire.
But I like the idea, a little bit more control over your ship. Maybe if you drop all 3 your signature drops to almost nothing to aid in stealth.

i like the idear of low output to = stelth, that could realy bring some tactics to the game.... and the ablity to dump wep power in to running etc kool

There was a space sim called Descent: Freespace with a such feature.
I think there is no chance to see something like this in EVE because it will make useless lots of low-slot modules designed to boost some parameters while reducing the other. Allowing people to adapt their ships to any situation will lead to a simple rule - ship with bigger cap recharge will rock.
Take a look at similar idea which does not violate game concept: Capacitor-Engine Booster med-slot module with few context menu options like use 0%, 30%, 60% and 90% of cap recharge. Shield-Engine Booster will be less effective while lowering shield recharge rate. Similar boosters can be for weapons. |

mods to boost and lowere certen parts could also work but i would prefer a bit more on the fly adaptation to give a more involved aspect to the game insted of just 'jump lock fire'
