Hi.
I dont really know if this is how its supposed to be but ive had a member mention about not being able to unlock/lock items in a container that he has access to.
The container has no access password, but has a config password and the member has container access set to granted from this division.
When he tries to lock/unlock an item the client is saying he needs config equipment role to do this.
Is this new? i dont remember it being there before while i was testing our system.
As the container is configured independantly using the individual container settings which are passworded "and" the access settings for that division in corp settings, i see no reason why you should have to grant config equipment role for container lock/unlock in the hangar.
This is forcing me to apply a role on members that they dont need to have and could cause problems.
I posted this here as im just not certain if its a bug or not.
Thanks in advance.

I just love it when no one responds to a post I make... I will tell you what I know about this...
From what I have seen, you do need the config equipment access in order to lock/unlock containers in the hangars. I set all my containers just as you do, with no actual password, and then just give access to the container through permissions. I ran into this (or rather one of my members did) and I had to switch to giving full access, including config access, and then just password everything. Much worse tbh.
Honestly, the Eve permissions system is the most convoluted and confusing thing I have ever seen. They need to take a hint from the several posts on this and make it more akin to the permissions you commonly see on Ventrilo servers. Thats what I call a nice system....

Thanks for the response.
At least now i know that it isnt' just me that thinks the way the lock/unlock system is arranged for containers in the corp hangar is a bit daft to say the least.
I'm hoping this will be changed at some point, to just config from the container settings. At least on station containers in the corp hangar anyway, im sure CCP could do this for us.
It would make container access easier to manage for CEO's
