Hey, I want to ask the pirate at large community about my corporation's reputation. I will take anyone's word that I recognize as being honorable at face value... but everyone else better post a log. ;-)
If you're asking yourself if I'm doing this for a patting myself on the back... I'm not. I got a convo from some old acquaintances that suddenly went all weird on me and I'm curious about the wider world.

I have never heard of your corporation as im sure you have not heard of my corp.
Reputation seems to span locally unless your a large corp ie. Veto and REPO.
Lots of people know us in our local area but if we went to Molden Heath then we would be cast into the shadows.

You're totally correct, but these guys have flown all over Eve. I know for sure that they started in Metro lowsec, moved up to Deklein/Venal, pirated out in Caldari space, and have now moved to Metro lowsec. They've played out in Syndicate and other places as well.
If nobody's heard of them, I suppose that's as good as anything.

I've encountered you personally, but beyond that I don't think I've ever seen the corp you're in around where I fly.
Regarding the old fashioned loser bit, that made me chuckle, the losers are the ones who could care less about anything approaching "e-honor", but you know this

I hadn't really noticed your corp, tbh. You personally, however, have a good reputation in my mind, based primarily on your quality forum posts.

Ed: And yes, I'm one of those old fashioned losers that e-honor matters to. My word is my bond and all that.
Honestly, I'd have never actually heard of No Salvation - but then again, it's probably down to flying in different areas or such.
As someone said, unless you're a large and/or famous corporation, reputation is a local matter.
Do you guys have a KB? Just to see where you're generally active without having to deal with the utterly horrible battleclinic layout?

We're in Metro lowsec ATM. At least if nobody's heard of them in a positive light, they haven't been in a negative light either. ;-)
I've shot some emails out to the locals too, so I guess I'll get most of my info from them. Anyone know some major pirate corps/notable people that live out in metro lowsec?

I've pirated for as long as I can remember, and seen combat in the low security systems of just about every region in empire, as well as a lot of the northern and southern 0.0 fringes.
I can't say that in five years I've ever heard of your corporation, but have probably heard and spoken to members/ex members with whom I haven't managed to connect the dots so to speak.
Reputation on a cluster wide scale doesn't mean a lot for a relatively small corp. It's better to just be known in your local area, then you can pack up and move on when you've depleted the "resources" in the immediate vicinity.

Not really. I doubt that any of you will recognize No Salvation as anything other than "Liang's corp that (s)he asked about because of some convos with old friends".
At any rate, I think I have a fairly good idea what I'm looking at now, and it appears to just be a problem with over the top smack. I'll hit up the corpies and ask them to lay off as a personal favor.

Did you just trade for/buy the character in the corp or the corp itself or something?
You should really have an idea of local politics and perceptions yourself.
For what it's worth: Never heard of you or the corporation.

Originally by: Liang Nuren Hey, I want to ask the pirate at large community about my corporation's reputation.
I tried to get one of your "yellows" in a caracal to fight me outside a station (I'm flashy so he was free to shoot) the other day, and he kept going on about not knowing the rules and/or thinking it was a trap. I assured him it wasn't a trap, and told him that I thought he was just stalling for backup, to which he replied "Nobody else is even on right now."
When it became clear that he wouldn't engage me 1v1, I wished him well and headed on my way. At the very next system I went to, there was another No Salvation pilot headed in to back him up.
I'm sure you've got a great corp with great guys and all so maybe the other guy just logged on or something, but if not it was kind of lame to lie about it (and weird that he didn't "know the rules").
I don't remember either pilot's name. I think it was either in Ontorn or Sirekur.

Seen and fought a few skirmishes against your corp, been in system once or twice with 10+ of your corpmates in local. Good fights, you guys have a pretty good attitude.
Though it probably doesn't help your reputation if nobody really knows who I am

Eh, that's an interesting situation, but it's not really dishonorable on either side. I don't see anything other than that he wasn't willing to 1v1 you on a station... and depending what you were in (you didn't say), he may have been 100% right. IMO (and I have quite alot of solo Caldari experience), the target choice for a solo "crackle" is pretty slim indeed without a gigantic SP advantage.
You also don't say that either you or he agreed to a 1v1, and also, I mean really now, who's going to answer the question of "How much backup do you have if I engage you"?! Yeah, I'm totally going to post a scout on the other side of the gate from my camp and tell everyone that there's 2 HICs, 4 drakes, 2 scorps, and 3 falcons on the other side?
Not to dismiss your story, because it is interesting. Thanks for passing it along, too. I even have a reasonable idea who it was.
