I read backward, mirror imaged, and upside down as easily as foward. You should learn to not have so much trouble with a simple thing to or stop trying to speak backwards to make a point.

There are a few reasons why I would legitimately make fun of someone's poor English, but them having English as a second language is emphatically not one. (I'd still correct their mistakes if they wanted to learn, but no way would I make fun of them.)

My main issue are the forum ****'s that jump all over people with dyslexia. And Jenny Spitfire who types bad on purpose.

Cool I was able to read that, not as fast as normally but my brain just automatically switched it around. Had the same experience with other bits of writing where the first and last letter in each word were switched but your brain just flips them round and reads it as normal.

Most of the people who don't speak/type English properly are English or American =/ The really sloppy, lazy stuff anyway. Folks who don't have English as their first language type in a different way, and tend to make more effort to get it right in my experience.

I hope you didn't type that backwards one letter at a time, or if you did I hope your brain hurts. On the topic of pedantic grammar I give significant leeway to people for whom English is a second/more language, not least because they usually genuinely want to improve and appreciate polite tips. My ire is reserved for the moronic, inbred detritus of humanity who butcher what should be their native speech.

its kinda stupid tbh, if you have the comprehension skills of a fifth grader, you will konw what they are saying and respond like normal
the only ones i have a problem with are those who dont have english as a first language and try to flame me for a typo or something, or completely misunderstand my post (because it's not their first language) and again, try to flame me for it

yeah, this is probably the case, because tbh, lol the only puncuation marks i tend to use are commas, and SOME periods but i really dont feel like taking the extra time to do spell check and make sure the period goes here and the apostrophe goes there, i just assume most people are like me and dont care as long as they understand it
oh, and i CAN type properly, in fact english is probably my best subject, i was taking college level english in high school, but when just typing on the forums i dont wnat to make it feel like im writing an essay
a bit off topic, but i also find it funny when people turn debates into spelling contests when they are losing

Back on topic, English is my first language and I know that I have massive problems as it has to do with grammar. Outside of that, most of my errors tend to be typing too fast and not proofreading. And like my fellow pilot above, Soldieroffortune, I do not want to feel like I am typing up an essay. But I guess I have never made any glaring errors since I have not been called out on it yet

It doesn't require any effort at all for a native English speaker to read that. Not only does it prove that the brain can transpose the word almost instantly, it also gives a reason why spelling mistakes are often missed.
I've played Eve for just under 4 years now and posted on the boards for a lot of that time. What I've seen over the last year or so is a steady incline in the number of posts that make fun of bad English. Most of the original posts were written by people who don't understand English very well and often, they end the post apologising for the bad English and explaining that English is not their native langauge. You get the odd few who will take the time to make sense of what is being said/asked and respond intelligently but more often, you get a plethora of posts taking the p*ss out of their attempt to write in English.
I say Kudos to those who learn another langauge. I know how hard it is, especially when the written form is totally unlike your own. Anyone from Europe who has tried to learn to write in Chinese or Japanese or the other similar written languages would understand this more. I got as far as a few words in Katakana and about 2 words in Hiragana. The main problem is that many English speaking Westerners can't be bothered to learn another language because English is spoken all over the world.
If I'm surrounded by people who speak Korean, I listen and see if I can pick up a few words. A free lesson FTW.
Edit: No I didn't write it letter by letter, I wrote a small applet to do it for me in about half a second.

It's not abnormal at all, in fact men in general have no issues at all reading backwards or upside down. Women find it much harder to do statistically.

Dyslexia mostly makes it hard to read. Specifically, it makes it hard to comprehend the symbols as sounds.
If you can read well, but can't spell for shit, you don't have dyslexia, you just failed at school and are failing at life.
Also, this thread is pointless. Use a built-in spellchecker (firefox/google chrome) to automatically spellcheck your posts.
English is my third language, and I prefer to admit that I ****ed up when I spell something wrong, rather than coming up with lame excuses "zomg, it's not my native language".
If you make so many mistakes, use a spellchecker or use forums in your own language.
