Ok, very board over downtime and been wondering, if you were the head of CCP's "EVE-ONLINE 2" division (and yes I know it doesnĘt exist itĘs just a bit of fun) what changes/new features would you implement? |

Cancelling EVE-2 in favour of more work on EVE-1.
Is that a feature or a change?... -

I would make the game a bit more like HW2. You fly slowly around an area, with hyperspace capability at the edges of a system. Some ships would have building capabilities, so they could reinforce the "fleet". Combat would be at a lot shorter range.
Guess I would just like to see a HW Online .

I would do 2 things differently. This is of course assuming there were no limits to computing power/bandwidth which is not likely
1) More realistic physics: ships affected by gravity, frictionless movement in open space, ship speed effected by engine type, ship acceleration affected by engine power.
Those last two would mean, that a BS could reach the speed capable by an interceptor, but because of it's mass, it would take a really long time to reach top speed.
All ships would use fuel for movement around a system.
2) More customizable ships: less hull types, but you would have to provide everything needed to make a ship, engine types and sizes, thrusters of various strengths to provide braking and turning. sensor pods. tracking systems, weapons, armour, shields, fuel tanks/fuel generators.
The number of attachment points would be vastly greater than we have now so just because you have minmatar cruiser hull in your sight, you have virtually no idea about that ships performance capabilities, it could be massively armoured, or very heavily gunned, maybe it has limited fuel and you can wait for it to starve to death. No hull bonuses to say turret tracking, all that would be provided by components the pilot can buy and fit.
It would essentially mean a million possible ship combinations, and more importantly more freedom for the pilot to adjust the ship to the exact requirements.
As I mentioned earlier, I would have all ships use fuel for movement, there would be fuel generating modules which could be fitted at the expense of a more combat/mining/hauling orientated fit. Combined with a method of transferring fuel between ships so that dedicated fuel ships become a possibility.
Basically, I'm looking for more tactical possibilities rather than a race to a BS ship that seems to happen now (OK, that's a huge generalization but you know what I mean).
