Hello,
Over the past couple of weeks, there's been a lot of discussion about lag. I have to wait up to ten seconds for my launchers to activate in Motsu, and although I've never left hisec I hear it's just as bad in 0.0.
Clearly, something needs to change. It just so happens that I have the solution, in the form of a friend named Pat. Pat is a third-year computer science major at a highly regarded liberal arts college in the United States, and as such is ideally suited to resolving hardware issues like those troubling EvE.
My proposal is to send Pat to Iceland to fix Tranquility. Unfortunately, tickets from the US to Reykjavik cost nearly a thousand dollars. That's where you, the people who love this game just as much as I do, come in. I will accept donations via paypal, and I promise that all money sent WILL contribute to putting Pat on a plane to Iceland. If there's any left over, it will be used to get Pat a first-class seat.
You may call me unrealistic, idealistic, delusional even. But there were 40,000 people logged into Tranquility last night. If all those people contribute five cents, Pat will be able to upgrade Tranquility. It will also work out if less than a quarter of a percent of them give one dollar, and if we can't even get THAT many people then there's a fundamental problem with EvE's playerbase. Namely, they're all as greedy as Oleksandr and the rest of the sociopathic vampires in Taggart Transdimensional.
So please, fellow players of EvE, band together and help me help Pat save the game we all love. US currency is preferred, but ISK donations (but not Russian currency) will also be gratefully accepted.

So CCP builds a supercomputer which they've kept maintained for years, and one lone American is able to "fix" all its flaws. I'm sure if it was that simple they would have done it already.

So Pat doesnt actually have any experience in doing what you claim he can, hes just read some books, done some labs and now is some computer god capable of fixing the interweb!!!

Well.. yes, the only real problem that needs fixing is Jita and they are working on that, although it wouldn't need fixing if half the people that don't need to be there weren't there.

Damnit why hasn't Pat solved the lag problems yet? Isn't he so great he can use his telekinetic and psychic powers to solve it? For that matter, why is there still hunger, disease and war in the world? What about this economic crisis? Why hasn't Pat solved that? Surely it should be within the realm of his awesome skills ...
