I used to play WoW but quit after I was in the top 10 PVP players and bought all the shiny items, I tried PVE but no-one wants a DPS warrior, and all creativity in builds is discouraged as only cookie cutter builds are allowed into the top raiding guilds.
I still play Ultima Online (home-made private server as EA's ruleset sucks) and Guild Wars. No pointless item-based grind for me, thanks. ---
Thanks for all that supported me. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

EvE+UO FTW! I play runuo's free server and roleplay on it. I'm an orc, wooohoo! We go around in large groups with crappy equipment, zerg stuff and talk smack in orchish. It's great.

WoW seems to have more point to the pvp, in that you actually improve your character by pvp'ing. EVE seems just about bragging rights. Sure you can get some drops, but it fails as a moneymaking profession versus other activities.
I have fun I suppose roaming around with a gang and picking off people, but it just seems a little pointless to me. Trying to get into the pvp but maybe this game wasnt meant to me.
Patently waiting for diablo3.

I play Tabula Rasa a lot more than I play Eve. It has a well thought out back story, the missions are interesting, the combat is fast paced. They release an patch every couple of months so that there is always new stuff to do.
I also play Dungeon Runners. It has a small but great PvP community. And while it has problems with nano*****s I find the PvP very rewarding.
I am a Hello Kitty Online Founder, when I get fed up with the cute fluffiness of Eve, I like to go to a cold dark place and battle evil.

I find the concept of classes and levelling out repulsive. Sword & sorcerers have had their day. I want guns, makeshift weapons, a dark future type of setting over fairydust.
WoW will never ever get another look from me again.

I will definitely play WoW again once the expansion hits the shelves. It won't be anything groundbreaking new, but so far Blizz has delivered a solid, relatively bug-free gaming experience with nice graphics and sound and a great intuitive UI (HELLO, CCP!!!), which is way more than the average MMOG company can provide. I'm expecting to get about 4-6 months of gaming before the thing gets stale again.
At the same time, I'll be keeping an eye on WAR and AoC to see how those games evolve. WAR seems to come along nicely and AoC is slowly improving now, after the old game director got fired (Funcom seems to need those solid kicks in the balls from time to time to get them going).
During my WoW time, I will most likely just log on to train new skills in EvE. Depending on how the GTC prices are in January, I will either get some new codes or go into hibernation. --------------- Hey, where's my portrait |

I cant combine two MMO's, thats beyond me.
It ended up with me disappearing from EVE for 3-4 months, just playing WoW and when I return most ppl I knew had moved on to different corps.
So now I stick to EVE since I can possibly balance the two.

Im not planing to return back to wow for some personal reasons. After 3 years in EVE im freezing my 4 accounts.
This game has become very time consuming game and my personal time is very limited.
I joined Warhammer Online since beta, and i have a possitive opinion about that game.
I only home my bright wizzard keeps doing that criticals

I tried the WoW free trial, but I really hated it.
I play a few quasi-MMOs, like AdventureQuest and Dragonfable, I have a Runscape account (free), and I used to play City of Heroes. Also, plan to play Star Trek Online in fall 2009 when it's release is said to happen.

I am a lvl 32 orc warrior now, and only play it when Eve bores me. I see it more as a single player game, leveling up, doing quests. After lvl 70 I'll just pack it. The graphics are too cartoonish to. ----------------- Destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It's not a thing to be waited for - it is a thing to be achieved. |

I can't really think of a bigger reward than owning the world. PvP in ≡v≡ certainly seems to have more of a point than in most MMOs… except maybe Planetside.

Does that work with their new Kingdom Reborn client? I played UO again recently (after an 8!!! year break) the client is really cool but your right its still ruined by all the PvE crap that the game was never originally designed for.

I played WOW when It first came out for about a year. I had to quit as the average age in that game was 12...no strike that everyone had the mentality of a 12 year old and I just couldnt hack it. Great game but sucks its overrun by whiny 12 year olds.
I love eve because it reminds me of UO in the old days, very cut throat and there is consequences for dying. MMO that have no consequence for dying makes death an annoyance instead of an adrenaline boosted ride.
I play a free UO server as well...and guild wars. If you melt dry ice can you swim in it and not get wet? |

As far as I know Kingdom Reborn isn't supported. But I think it looks horrible anyway.
The game did have PVE in mind, but with AOS they turned it into an item-based game, no longer a skill-based game. And they didn't do a good job at that, leading to many bugs, grind, imbalances and so on.
Originally by: Kleus Flek EvE+UO FTW! I play runuo's free server and roleplay on it. I'm an orc, wooohoo! We go around in large groups with crappy equipment, zerg stuff and talk smack in orchish. It's great.
Haha orc roleplaying is a lot of fun.

I programmed my own ruleset which now contains elements from pre-AOS, post-AOS, Guild Wars, Diablo and Conquer Online.
Got chivarly, necromancy, bushido, ninjitsu, spellweaving and a custom spell skill (piety) that allows the casting of priest skills (healing/protection). The AOS resistance system has been overhauled, with all weapons doing physical damage to which armor has flat absorption rates instead of percentual ones, and diminishing returns on elemental resistances which are percentage based.
Equipment has a fixed amount of possible modifiers ala Guild Wars, and people can find gems and socket them into items ala Diablo, people need arms lore and itemID for this, giving these skills actual uses for crafters.
Unlike AOS, the game is not that equipment based despite the large amount of item properties floating around. Item properties only give small bonusses, which makes cheap non-magical equipment viable and makes it easy for player-crafted items to compete, and be upgraded later on with more properties by other player craftsmen.
Too bad my server collapsed after people left for WOW because they had friends playing that.
Ah well this is getting off-topic sorry about that. Just being a passionate game designer. ---
Thanks for all that supported me. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

I enjoyed Tabula Rasa for a few weeks but then it began to feel like a series of FPS maps. Which it is to some extent. I didn't find it anywhere near as immersive as Eve.

To be honest after 8 years i'd kinda forgotten how it looked, and after playing KR for a month I was forced to download the classic client due to some bugs with the house editor thing in KR. Classic looks seriously dated, 800x600 on a 22" widescreen.. I really think its just a matter of what your used to.
