I've played Project Entropia off and on for several years now. I hate that game. If there was a legit way to get my money withdrawn without losing a chunk to friggin' fees, then crossing my fingers and waiting a few months to get it, I would.
Other than that it's a pretty game. |

I play 3 accounts on Eve, and play EQ2 here and there when I get the itch for something different. I got no clue why anyone would play Wow however, lol.

used to play both wow and eve, im really bored of wow now, everything i do in it, ive done before, nothing new. Stopping playing a couple of months ago. Might start playing again when wotlk comes out, but we'll see if my old mates start playing, and if they do ill defo go along. If they dont then meh, ill stick to eve.
I tried warhammer, which seems ok, but i can see myself growing bored of it very soon, i dont think ill be renewing the subscription when my free 30 days runs out.
AoC looked amazing, really thought we had a winner. Turns out the first few levels had alot of effort put into them, and onwards from there everything was just instanced and lame. Really amazing graphics tho.
I'm not bored of eve yet, wont be a long time before i get bored either, theres just so much to do :P |

I am breaking from Eve for a while, and making my 2 accounts 1, just cant finnish with it coz it always seems to be "almost" the game i want it to be (curse you ccp), but i am playing warhammer (im a tabletop fan), its just that i expect pvp to be like Battlefield or similar, when i fire/slash at someone it should hit EVERYONE in the way, not just the guy ive right clicked on...this is really annoying me about WAR and will shortly kill my interest, i just cant stand running around in circles slashing at one guy in a group and NO ONE ELSE gets hit ...wheres the friendly fire smartbomb goodness of Eve! and I mission for faction standing, if i need isk, sell a gtc! |

Originally by: wdwjhdw WoW seems to have more point to the pvp, in that you actually improve your character by pvp'ing. EVE seems just about bragging rights. Sure you can get some drops, but it fails as a moneymaking profession versus other activities.
I have fun I suppose roaming around with a gang and picking off people, but it just seems a little pointless to me. Trying to get into the pvp but maybe this game wasnt meant to me.
Patently waiting for diablo3.
I agree with you that Eve Online lacks motivation for pvp and pve both lack a reason to do them in the first place money no items rewards none what loyalty points oh please. What eles is there as a reward to pvp or pve not much to think of.

I myself am starting to get a little fed up with eve. I'm thinking of moving over to WAR. I don't believe I can deal with normal 0.0 roaming ops. Pretty much fly around for three hours, clicking the align and jump button every now and then, only to find a couple ships and call it a night.(whoopie) I'm really starting to break down PvP in eve to its basics and it's really not that superior to any other game really (but not saying it is, or is not superior at all) It's the impression by the people that believe pvp here is great. In reality I think not quite so. Lets say we take that three wasted hours and but in a bunch of other people that decide to show up and we go to battle. FC: prim X, dead, prim Y, dead, prime Z, dead. End of battle.
Now I'm not saying WAR isn't like that. I "believe" WAR is a quick way to get some pvp action. Naturally it'll be press 1,2,3,4,5 etc but at least I don't have to fly around for hours on end and cross my fingers hoping I get a bite. See, pvp in eve is a LOT like fishing. You go around for hours hoping something bites. Sometimes nothing, most of the time, nothing(what it feels like at least in fishing and eve) Don't get me wrong either the fleet guys are awesome and all so its not lacking in that area.
Basically I think I'm running out of reasons to play eve. I hardly log in and I don't want to 'force' myself to log in just because I'm paying for it. Either way I may probably will get bored of Warhammer after the first month, come back here , get bored, go back to warhammer etc. Who knows. Whats your input, why do you play eve over other games?

I've played WoW, and I will probably play WoW in the future. At the moment my account is suspended (I cannot find time for two MMOs in the same fiscal month). I also play Popmundo (browser based game, free to play, check it out).
If I had a better 'puter I'd probably try out other MMOs as well, but with things being as they are, that's not happening. And EVE runs OKish on this one, albeit no premium gfx for me. |

Edited by: H0NZA on 01/10/2008 00:37:47 HighWind I play Eve Online because it is the only good mmo out there -currently-. If CCP starts making changes to the game that affect pvp to specially pve then I will stay of course.

Blizzard does a really good job making their PvE content enjoyable. It's nice to play through the new content they release but if you stick around the inherent flaws in the game turn the experience sour.
So I'll probably play the next expansion for a month or two, but not much more.

Now, why is this interesting? It isn't. I just wondered if there were others who dared acknowledge their gaming to diverse from the sanctity of EVE?
In short, do you play other MMOs?

I play EVE, Warhammer online, Perfect World, Call of Duty 4, Red Alert 3, Counterstrike:Source, and X3.

Hmm, I don't like coffee, and I don't like anything that messes with my brain such as any pills...maybe I'm missing something...Many people that play eve seem to smoke and drink lots of coffee, pretty much everything I hate.

Don't like anything that messes with your brain? You better get that lobotomy ASAP then, because there is a lot out there in life that will just do that.

I play Eve cause it is spaceships. I am a sci-fi person not a fantasy person.
Also I played Elite back in the day and Eve for me is Elite online.
Not that I have any problem with anyone who plays WoW or anything else.
Its all about having fun after all.

1. I know what you mean about eve requiring alot of time doing nothing much.
2. I also don't think the combat mechanics are better in Eve than in every other game. However, they do work fine. Never really understood the l33t attitude and people who say "LTP" because Eve is a pretty simple straightforward pvp experience.
3. Same as 1 - I really know what you mean.
Having said this I tried out WoW (havent tried out warhammer) for mainly these reasons, think I got up to 52 or 53 before I couldn't take any more. Easy pvp in WoW is just a pointless minigame with disorganised idiots who don't know what they are doing. And tons of pve in between bored the hell out of me (how is pve any more interesting than a single player game?).
When you compare that experience to eve pvp then eve wins every time. Also tried AO (not my cup of tea) and a few other mo's as well as a fair number of MUD's (there are still some good muds out there - WOT, Kinslayermud, etc).
When you go into fleet battles (despite the moans about lag) then Eve for me becomes a game unlike any I have experienced before or after. Most of the individual elements are fairly simple - align, pres f1-f8, warp, etc but the way it all ties together is epic in scale and ambition. For me at the moment it's either eve or a single player.
